Woohoo!! So exciting! I also have a free roadmap and workshop available on my website (louisehenry.com) if you wanted to learn more about getting your Asana set up 🥰
7:48 - I use this all the time! But I also use subtasks within subtasks. Do you know of a quick way to view those in the whole list (a secondary dropdown arrow?) I would love that feature!!!
Hey Katherine! Unfortunately, there isn't a quick way to view those 🥺 The only thing I can think of is to have a tag on those tasks and then click the tag to pull all the sub-subtasks up... but that might be more work than it is worth! I agree though - I would love to see that feature as well! 🙌
So many great tips! I love asana my only pain point is notifications. Sure would rock to have my phone light up say 10min before a task is due to remind me. Or is that a feature that exists and I'm not understanding how to make it happen? Great video, you always teach so well and so many helpful ideas! Love the templating idea, going to implement that right away.
Personally, I just love all of the features and the look of Asana! In general, I find it has more variety in viewing my tasks. I have another video here on Trello Vs. Asana that may be helpful: ua-cam.com/video/2Lkgni3o9SM/v-deo.html 🙂 Enjoy!
Hey there! I actually have a quiz that you can take to determine what brand style may be best for you! You can access that here: louisehenry.com/brand-style-quiz 🙂
Hi Louise. Love your tutorial videos on the use of Asana. Love Asana too for its many capabilities. However, there is a major shortcoming for us, which is why we stopped using the program as of April 2021. I work in a 2-person estate planning law firm. We set Asana up by creating a project for each of our clients. We have a lot of clients, some that I want to archive, but still keep in our program, as we get calls for updates. It is so difficult to see our clients because even after all this time passed, there still is no way to alphabetize the projects. Nor is there a way, that I see at the moment, of creating two separate Archive folders in order to distinguish our estate planning clients from our business clients. I would love to hear from you as to what you think we can do, so we could keep using Asana and not find ourselves wasting precious time in order to stay organized.
Hey there! Ah, yes, unfortunately it isn't possible to sort the archive folder or to alphabetize projects. That would be a great feature! The only workaround here I can think of would be to have two projects separating the two types of clients and instead of having each client be a project, you could have them be a "task" with their to-do's as subtasks. This way, you could try to sort alphabetically, and, when you "complete" the task, you could always see it again by viewing "complete" tasks within the project (so it's archived but easy enough to bring back). Just a thought! xx
Thank you. Can you link a sub-task to a task but with a due date of X-days prior to the task item. For instance - Task is Window Delivery - Subtask is Order Windows of which I want to set up in the template to be due 35 days prior to the task of delivery date.
Hi! I’m new to Asana. Is there away to approve projects in Asana. We currently send the finished product in emails for every team member to review and approve before it’s sent to the next group.
Hey Taylor! Unfortunately in Asana right now we can only create approval tasks and not projects themselves. However, you could keep this project private and then once you're ready to share you could make it public for other team members to see and use 🙂 That's a thought!
Thank you for this video Louise! I have a question, you mention it is advantageous if the admin for the platform has a company domain, it is advantageous to use that email as the email. So how do I change my email on asana? We have been using for 4-5 weeks but I would like to change my email. I do not see any instructions on how to do this within the app.
Hey Brenda! You should be able to do this by clicking on your profile picture in the top right corner and going to your settings! You can update your email here 🙂 Then, if your workspace isn't already an organization (if you didn't set up your Asana using a custom domain email), you can go to "admin console" > settings > select "convert to organization". I hope that helps!
@@louisehenry I found it's creating portfolio in Asana. In jira we can create Epics and link one category of tasks under an epics. In asana it's portfolio. Did I answered your question?
Thanks for the info. How are you able to maintain such a big and seemingly authentic smile through the whole video? I'm suspicious that you have a basket of puppies right behind the camera.
It's 2021 and Asana still doesn't show recurring tasks in calendar. I agree it has pretty nice features but without something so essential it's a hard no from me.
The main reason I moved away from Asana is because after all the years with all the community complain. There is still NO desktop version. Even the community themselves knew it is a huge shame for app like is doesn have a desktop version.
Please don't. I have been following the community quite a bit. Demands for desktop version started since 2017 and received huge number of votes. Say hello to year 2021. It is opinionated that it will never going to happen. Even the forum moderator admitted that it is not in their development plan. Relax your fingers because, you know, NOT gonna happen.
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear you had that experience! I find that once you get in there and start organizing it in a way that works for you, it really can make a huge difference!
So excited for the doors to Uplevel with Asana to open this Friday! 🎉🎉🎉 Get on the waitlist here: www.uplevelwithasana.com/waitlist

I use Asana for work. This is helpful. I didn't know about the appreciation buttons. I'll use them tomorrow. Thanks!
I'm so glad this was helpful! Asana has so many neat features. The appreciation button just adds a little extra positivity in the platform I think 🙂
Because of your fun tutorials I'm going to start using Asana for my projects

You could set this up with a 3rd party integration tool like zapier or integromat

Hey there! That is possible! You can do that using the Asana for Gmail App Integration feature within Asana 🙂
Keep going Louise , great content, very helpful tips.

So glad you think so! 🙂
Hi! when you create a template it can auto-generate due dates based on the start date, is that correct? is it available to premium users only?
Hey Shirleen! While this won't happen automatically, you could set up a rule for this - but that is only available for premium users 🙂
Is there an option to create Epics in Asana. I want to create Epics and link 10 deliverables to it.
