I am definitely keen to try some Sandford. I looked at my library sale yesterday but alas, no luck. I think the used bookstore I frequent has a number of his books so I will have a look at the next visit.
Thanks for the recommendation. I have seen his books a lot but have never heard anyone who has read his work. Guys that I work with read Vince Flynn, Nelson Demille, Lee Child, Stephen Hunter, Steve Berry, Jack Carr, and Mark Greaney. When I've asked if they've read Sanford, none of them have but I thought that he probably writes characters similar to these other authors so I'll be the first to try his and hopefully be able to recommend his books.
Great overview of Sandford, Kevin. I have bought Rules of Prey, the first book. I have to ask you about how graphic the violence is going to be in the series...
There is some crudeness, and the subject matter around chasing bad guys who commit violent crime is discussed. Not so much blood and gore, more just the subject matter around the main antagonists may be off-putting to some. I don’t feel it’s over the top, and as the series goes along, you can tell Sandford dials back some of the taboo to keep current with the times and what could be deemed offensive.
@@kevintowle9665 Got it. I just read the first few pages when the book arrived, and I was feeling kind of hesitant about reading about a serial rapist/killer.
Always liked John Sanford books. Usually grab one from the airport bookstore and read it while waiting for a flight. Pretty good. Entertaining. Books move at a quick pace. But still good quality reads
I agree with you on all aspects. He is one you can find in the Hudson News stores in Airports. I travel some for work and also see him “on the racks” thanks for the feedback, and have a great weekend!
I know this isn’t what the video is about, but Misery made my depression come out full force. I’m like 3/4 of the way done. Should I DNF it or just “rip it off like a bandaid” and just read something happy when I’m done.
I love the blend of seriousness and humor in sandford's characters along with tbe good plotlines.
Agree. Some of the guy humor and back and forth is so great water cooler stuff. It’s real talk. I agree!

Good luck and happy hunting Bing!

I would say similar for sure. Hope you enjoy him! Have a good weekend!
Excited to start Rules of Prey in November!
Look forward to your thoughts.

Maybe I would like the Kid books?
I thought you had read them mom. I will bring you the first one.

Finish it, then read a happy book!
