- This is a follow-up to my 2020 PleasureWay Tofino Review. In this video I walk through how walks how I've customized and designed my version of the this pop-top camper van. I discuss what I do for a toilet and shower, how I use the pop top, how I work remotely from the road, my outdoor camping setup, mountain bike storage, heating and cooling, security and much more.

Super super cool !!!
Niiiiice
Now that's how you work remote. What a nice setup, and an even better view!
Thanks man!
Love it! Thank You for sharing
Love this. Simple functional and dope all in one. Thank you for making this video. Fantastic b roll too.
Good work Matt! Thanks for putting this together!
thanks so much Traci! glad you enjoyed it
Great tour Matt, lots of good information and ideas for those of us yet to see a Tofino in person. And Alpine is adorable.
Thanks Carol! Really appreciate that.
Great tour, Matt!
Great location too, with The Three Sisters in the background.
Your van seems really well organized. 😊
You and Alpine have yourselves a pretty sweet ride!
Awwww thanks Joan. I really appreciate all your support.
Great informative video
Dang, that's some awesomeness! Frozen Kale and a can of Chef Boyardee in the same van! That's fine dining right there my friend!
Great tour Matt 🚐
Hi Stephen, not sure why I missed this. Thanks for the comment and kind words.
Great work Matt! Really enjoyed our second You Tube visit inside your Tofino!
Thanks Gail!
Great rundown and kudos on the creative editing! I'm still trying to figure out a way to de-clutter all the kitchen supplies inside the Tofino, but I like some of your solutions
Thanks Yuri! I agree. I’m still not happy with my solutions for the kitchen. Keep me posted if you get any creative ideas!
i know I'm kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to stream new tv shows online?
@Hendrix Hayes I dunno I'd suggest Flixportal. just google after it :D -langston
@Langston Felix thanks, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) Appreciate it!!
@Hendrix Hayes No problem :D
Even though Alpine didn’t seem excited 😜 looks like you have a nice setup. 👍
She has no time for my silly videos.
@@scobelverse I guess If she isn’t the star of the show, she doesn’t want to be in it. 😜
Very cool! Probably a little tight for two people but seems just right for one.
It's great for 2 people!! We love ours!
@@tracidixon3671 Awesome! Enjoy!
I think it's a good observation Glen. I definitely travel differently with two. Everything is a bit more cramped and I really utilize the rooftop storage. However, coming from an old '87 Westy this feels like luxury for me :) I think there are a lot of couples that live in these full time (or for extended periods) and can speak to their experience.
haha like Traci!
Way better than the VW Eruo van!
Hi Matt, When’s the next video coming with your next big Tofino project? Love both your Tofino videos. Thanks for putting them together. I’m struggling between a Tofino and a ‘85 Westy. My main use is long weekends, not remote travels like your. Thanks again for all your information on the Tofino.
I have a list of projects I could lay out in a video but I don’t think I’ll actually start any of them until the summer. In the meantime have you found the Tofino Facebook group? So many food mods and tips.
I had an ‘87 Westy and man they are soooooo much fun. I would evaluate based on how off the grid you’re going, the weather (hot or cold), and your electronic requirements. Keep the questions coming. Happy to answer!
Hi, Yes, I’m on that Facebook group. Ton of good stuff there also, for sure.
Dude how did you do that intro. It was obviously a Timelapse but then you put a video over top of it. I’ve never seen that done.
Well done. Tofino is difficult to get in the U.S. It is the perfect small van for those of us who do not need luxury on the road and do not want a gigantic Class C or A. Yet there are a lot of creature comforts built in.
Yes, I agree 100%. You nailed it. I always had this odd little test when I was shopping for a van. I would ask myself "Would I drive this thing through Times Square in Manhattan?" I've driven to NYC from Southern Ontario, Canada at least a half dozen times and always wished I had a camper van that would allow me to avoid expensive hotels. I haven't been back to NYC but I've driven the Tofino through downtown Chicago, stopped for a deep dish pizza, ate it in the van, then continued on through rush hour traffic. That's what I LOVE about this vehicle. There's nowhere (within reason) I can't drive it. I'll compromise on the lack of shower, bathroom and standup room. :)
Hi there couldn’t you just use a portable air conditioner in hot areas?
Do you have a list of all the extras you’ve bought/added? Just put an order in on a 2021.5 tofino, so excited! Thanks foe the awesome content!
love your added shade addition. where can i find it. Thanks for sharing .
Here you go moonfab.com/
Which attachment did you use? Magnets?
Love your videos. very much in love with the fact that you haul your bikes with you. Bikes are essentials!! We are not in the market for a tofino (yet). We are considering the scamp trailer, but we also have a minivan so we can store our bikes in the van when we do travel (again, bikes are essentials! haha! When you feel a bit under the weather, pop onto the bike for a nice hour spin, LIFT you right up. Works every time). Thank you for taking the effort to make this video. It gives us a lot of information on the tofino and how we might use it (if we ever get one, one day). Question for you, do you find that your ram promaster has served you well in terms of reliability? Have you any break-down? Thank you! We have subscribed to learn more.
Thanks for both of your Tofino videos Matt! I bet it's a lot of work and they turned out great. I don't have a Tofino (yet!) and would want to go on longer trips and work from the van so thanks for showing your router and work setup. I have to ask for the information on your laptop stand if you know it?
Thanks Stephen! Hope you end up getting one. Here’s the stand
Laptop Stand, BoYata Adjustable Laptop Riser with Slide-Proof Silicone and Protective Hooks, Notebook Stand for Laptop up to 17 Inches, Laptop Holder www.amazon.ca/dp/B083NYMW1X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_D5ocCuBY4njNK
Anibody has a plan for indoor shower on the tofino
I’ve never seen one Paul. I think it would be very difficult to do. Maybe a hot tub in the back 😂
Hi Matt. Cool video. Greetings from Edmonton. Do you have a link for the moon shade ? Thank you 🙏🏿 Hans
curious if the pop-top is waterproof?
Matt, can you tell me what make/model security camera in the video? Thanks
Hi Cliff. It’s a Wyze Camera V1
Dude, does it have an under hood alternator to charge the lithium batteries? And can you add more lithium batteries? Thanks dude for your great videos.
Yes to the alternator. Batteries can be charged by the alternator, solar or plugging into shore power. I suppose you could add more batteries but would be likely voiding the 5 year warranty. I don’t know if you would need them.
When you are driving with passengers does the van air conditioning keep the van cool?
Nice setup .where did you get the blanket? it is beautiful and really suits the van.
Love your conversion. Not sure where in Canada you’re from but would you know where I can get a pop-top installed in Ontario?
These were pre-installed by PleasureWay in Saskatoon. I’m not sure where you could do that in Ontario.
Thanks Matt, you are so good at these and they are so helpful:)
Want to travel with my dog as well, but worry about leaving him alone for 6-7 hours if I’m on a hike somewhere that I can’t bring a dog.
Do you have any issues/suggestions since you have Alpine travelling with you?
Thanks! I really appreciate that. That's a tough one. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable leaving her for 6-7 hours in the van. If I did, I would want to make sure my Wyze camera could also tell the temperature inside the van in case there was an issue with heating or cooling. Overall though, as long as you were 100% sure there wasn't going to be an issue with temperature if you're pup is used to this at home it shouldn't be an issue.
@@scobelverse Thanks Matt. I agree with you that I would not want to leave him in the van that long, so I would have to re think my length of hikes/activities to do. Please keep posting pictures/videos of your adventures with your beautiful pup!
Hey so what do you consider the max weight up in the pop top?
Officially 200lbs I think, but I’ve heard this is just a safety related situation. The manufacturer says they have tested over 500lbs without issue. I would not hesitate to put two adults up there.
I've been looking at this exact class b, do you find the ceiling height annoying especially if trying to cook something? I've been tempted but don't have any listed locally to check out
Hi Matt, nice video, just wondering where did you get the tofino for 70k here in canada?
My Tofino was just over $80K Canadian. List price is $74K USD which is what I used since most of the audience is Canadian.
Hi, do your pop up leak under rain?
So far no isssues.
There’s another UA-camr who usually uses the back area as her bed.
Yes. I have napped in there quite often.
This won’t work in Florida. Need an air conditioner.
