@@PNWEnduro Amazing bike for the "flow"
@@PNWEnduro would the two stroke be better at the tight stuff? Is the 250X a “proper” enduro?
@Warren Stemphly yes a two stroke is more suited for the tight stuff, this bike can do it but it's more work. IMO the YZ250X is just a slightly modified MX bike. 5 speed transmission, smaller fuel tank and no electric start keeps it from being a true enduro bike.
@@PNWEnduro yeah that’s what I figured and have read on various sites. It’s weird that the Japanese just won’t go all the way with building an enduro bike. Maybe they leave it to the aftermarket to close the gap?
Is this comparable to the 390rr?
Not that close. YZ250FX is more of a cross country race bike, the Beta 390rr is closer to a dual sport bike.
3:23 the Achilles Heel in this bikes otherwise excellent pedigree.
How do you think it would compare to KTM 150 ?
Vastly different. Are you talking a TPI 150 or the older carb versions?
@@PNWEnduro The newer TPI. I’m just wondering if the 150 has the guts to get thought some of the trails that you ride. Or would be good for sandy trails where power is going to be helpful. Or a bigger cc bike might be better.
@thomastjg53 I really like the tpi 150's and feel they are a much better bike than the carbed versions. They do very well on the trails I ride, seem to have good bottom end power (for a 150) and the light feeling makes them easy to maneuver on switchbacks etc. Sandy trails and big hill climbs you may find yourself wanting more power though.
@@PNWEnduro Ya that’s what I was thinking too. The sand can get ready deep, and powdered here. I’m on a crf 450 now setup for H.S. But I’m a woods- trail ride more than anything. The H. S. Seems to work good for me , on are trails. I’m getting older and the 450 is getting a little heavy. And no E- start. Man I must be getting old. 72. Maybe a 250 or 300 2 or four stroke would better.
If you had suspension setup to your liking and a rekluse auto... could it do anything gnar your bike can? Considering this w rekluse for next bike... coming from 300s... a riding buddy of mine does all the gnar w me wo a rekluse.. he’s 30lbs heavier than me tho.. suspension to stiff for me... prefer the xplor...
Anyone w a 250fx successfully soften the suspension for single track? Tips? I weigh 158 wo gear 170 w gear.
I'm sure it could but it would be more work. You can't beat two strokes for hard enduro. This bike has had the suspension re-valved so it's nice and plush like my Sherco. I do not care for auto clutches personally.
@@PNWEnduro could you ask where it was revalved... I’m looking for a little bit stiffer than xplor.
@@Fontainebleauify he did it himself. The owner is a motorcycle mechanic.
Don’t forget either that 2.1 gallon will get you farther than a ktm 2.25 or a sherco 2.5 at least my 19 would 80 miles and that wasn’t taking it easy either
The japanis have a lot to learn from the european in the hard stuff...go sherco
I agree the Sherco 300sef is better suited for hard enduro type stuff.
Hoping they bring back the kdx200
Like your review, but its a shame you folks continue to ride the shit out of these trails. Where we ride in the east we are continuously being guided to NOT destroy the land. We are constantly having riding land taken away from us. This would be a prime example .
These are motorcycle trails, are we not suppose to ride them? A lot of us put in time maintaining these trails as well. The sport is growing fast and more riders are on all the trails. We are not destroying anything here. Also this area has an agreement with the government called a section 56 which protects the area as a legal motorized use area.
Yeah, how dare us motorcycle guys ride motorcycle trails...the nerve!!!
