Lightning Blue and Cinimod Junior engaged in a speed duel which set up Skipper Dale for a 3:13.62 time for the 2600 metres mobile - a world record. Paleface Bubble stormed home for 2nd with another Australian, Sunset Candios heading the rest. Lightning Blue struggled on to hold 4th place.
