There are only two situations where you can't run out of the baseline: 1) when running from home to first; 2) when trying to avoid tag. Other than that you can run anywhere you want. You just cant's deliberately knock down the ball. It was not "reviewable" because it wasn't illegal!
Freddie said it himself, he would have done the same thing in Manny's place. It's an intelligent, legal baseball play. He didn't "get away" with anything illegal.
@@thomasmichaels6850 you’re right he got to choose his own path but he didn’t run straight to second. He ran like two feet into the grass. I’m fine with it because he knows the rules and it’s smart but just saying it looked clear from where I was sitting that that was interference in the moment not realizing the rules in place
Great win, great win, great win, So before any body gets upset with my comment, GREAT WIN !!!! I would SURE LIKE TO SEE THREE GUYS FIND THEIR WAY BACK WITH THE BAT THOUGH. JAKE, PROFAR AND OUR BATTING CHAMPION PLAYING FIRST BASE. Come on you guys find your bats you can't rely on everybody else game after game. Especially Profar, come on buddy worry less about faking the batter out whether you get a home run and concentrate more on hitting the damn ball. It's been a while for you. We are dying with the third hole, maybe it's time to move the rookie up there. I'm glad it wasn't interference called but I think Manny's little trip to second could have been called either way, but I'm glad it went our way. It would have been nice if we could have burned up their bullpen today instead of letting their starter off the hook. Hopefully we can get five strong innings out of Dylan on Wednesday and wrap this thing up. The offense needs to have an appearance though more often than one inning. Let's not press our luck again. Let's get the win and get an extra day or two off.
Ben, most takes I'm hearing, and how I'm reading the rule, is that the runner can establish their base path, so no only was it not reviewable but Manny made a heads up legal play. Freeman said he would have done the same if roles were reversed. Roberts not going out to at least ask some questions was a very Roberts/LA move.
Manny did nothing wrong. He wasn't trying to avoid a tag, he wasn't trying to knock the ball away, so he can run anywhere he wants. Shit, what about Mookie Betts running all over the diamond before realizing Profar hadn't robbed him again? Is that because the ball is dead?
There's something magical about the 2024 Padres team
Agreed
It’s not over yet people, we must respect how good the dodgers can be
Do not sleep on that team thinking they'll lay down tonight. They want nothing more than to bring it back to LA. LFGSD!
Lets fininsh this series and handle business like its our destiny. Special props to the glove of Arraez and the arm of Suarez LFGSD

Jake and Jurickson need to get the bats going. Thank goodness for the deadline bullpen trades.
