    BACKGROUND
During 2019-2021, the Organ Academy carried out the project "Swedish 18th century organs", which presents a selection of Sweden's best-preserved organs from the 18th century in an open database. As a follow-up to this project, "Organ Hunting in West Sweden" is now launched, where each instrument is presented with newly recorded video and audio documentation, interviews with organ experts and music examples by and with the organist Sietze de Vries from Groningen in the Netherlands.
In Sweden, there is an internationally unique presence of preserved organs. These constitute an important, but also relatively unknown cultural heritage.
    PURPOSE
The project aims to make this cultural heritage accessible via audio files and video "walk-throughs" of the organs.
    OBJECTIVE
The overall goal of the project is to publish on the internet an openly available set of presentations of a selection of West Swedish organs in Västra Götaland, where the instruments are presented with sound and moving images.
The project is a part of West Sweden Organ Vision (Orgelvision Väst) and made possible by a grant from the Västra Götaland region.

There are some recordings that completely change your perspective on organs, and this is one of them. This is the perfect synergy of a small but very, very cleverly designed organ, and an exceptionally thoughtful organist of the utmost creativity. It is - by far and away - the best demonstration I've ever heard of how much can be achieved with only small resources, when a very clever builder and a very clever organist conspire. As a listener, I find myself completely gripped by it; this is the sort of stuff that should inspire new generations of organists.

Beautifully written. This is what really marks Sietze de Vries: he improvises by listening to and really understanding the organ. He can do so much with so little. Perfect example, which impressed me very much is this improvisation on 1 manual, 1 stop: ua-cam.com/video/bV8P9Hf56Ws/v-deo.htmlsi=V5NAVQJG7m2nKeqN

13:08 That is crazy! I don't think I would have thought of/attempted to use a quint like this. Sounds beautiful.

It is fantastic being able to see you publishing 'organ hunting' videos. Thank you very much and carry on.

Thanks for a great demo! Beautiful Orhan. Great that it is kept in good condition. Check out "The Schoirlin Organ in Josered" from years ago.

What’s the temperament? It sounds like a circulating “well” temperament, with subtly different colours for each triad.
