Falconry is frikin cool .. met a guy that uses raptors to control birds at big companies died makes a killing .. had no idea how much the birds cost .. Love your work man just awesome Thanks
I’ve noticed you Mount all your waterFowl wet then dry on the form. I’ve seen tons of videos and this is the first I’ve seen done this way. Can you share why you do it this way?
The biggest reason for drying them after is that the skin maintains its moisture level to its highest through the whole process … it’s a little faster too.. but in the big picture all that matters is to get all feathers fully dried doesn’t matter when.
You can decide where the support wire will need to come out of the bird, then make a small incision, push your wire into the body, and either epoxy around it or I push the wire all the way to poke out of the bird and bend it back into the body again but nothing on the surface of the skin, the skin will be slightly cut open and sewn back up after pushing the wire back in.
Great work and helpful
Thanks

How'd you get the support wire in there after you got it sewn up and everything?

What a beautiful piece of artwork.. What adhesive do you use to glue the skin back to the skull
Try this glue, use sparingly and only small amounts to ensure a clean job. tacglue.com
Crazy glue or super glue.
Thanks
One of my favorite birds to mount Blue Goose. BUT have yet to mount a Blue Ross!!. What are you using as the carding?
card board, pins, painters tape.
How do you preserve your bird skins?
I have a video on that one n my channel.
Found it great 👍
