Thank you so much! Coming from someone who has lived in Athens for 17 years, that means a lot to me. I’m thrilled to hear you found the tips accurate-it’s the ultimate compliment! 😊 Athens is such an incredible city.
I went last year(high season) and watched your videos about it. Lukamades were awesome but it was a long wait! Very sticky as well haha 😂. Athens may be my favourite city trip within europe thus far. We stayed in kolonaki which was a bit more expensive but very fun vibe and felt safe at night. My tip for acropolis would be to be there before the gates open. We were 30min after opening and the line went all the way down to the bus parking area. Also, rush to the top and enjoy the theater of herodus/dionysus on your way down. The top got crowded quickly. The top had almost no shade and no sitting area. There is a water vending machine though, but you need coins and it wont be cold Acropolis museum has no proper seats either. I was tired after half a day at acropolis and spent maybe 1h at the museums restaurant getting rested 😂 Lastly, syntagma square got quite sketchy at night with groups of men filling it up. Dont go alone as a woman, it felt unsafe (One last thing, theres a juice shop like 30m from monasteraki square, id go back to athens just for that. It was divine❤)
Hi Rok, I’ve been following your channel for a while. I truly enjoyed your videos and think they deserved much more views and likes! I wanted to ask how I can join one of the tours that you lead, if you lead tours in English. If you lead one-day tour of your base city, I’d be interested in that too. I do not know how to send you a direct message or find you another platform, so I’m leaving a comment here, hopefully you can see it.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for following my channel-it truly means a lot to me! 😊 I’m thrilled to hear you’ve been enjoying the videos, and I really appreciate your support. At the moment, I’m fully focused on creating travel content to inspire and help everyone explore these amazing destinations, so I only do a few private tours each year. That said, I’d be more than happy to help you plan your trip with recommendations for trusted tours and experiences. Let me know which city or type of experience you’re interested in, and I’ll share my best suggestions! If you’d like, feel free to connect with me at rokgoesaround@gmail.com-I’d love to help however I can. Thanks again for reaching out, and I hope you have an incredible trip ahead! 🌍 ✈️ Best regards, Rok
