Love the brutal honesty from the legend, Dirk Nowitzki, about the sheer greatness of the kid legend, Luka. I mean, let's face it. Luka is already playing better offensively than all-time greats at the peak of their careers. The stats from Luka are on another level. He's still a kid and he's unstoppable.
Luka's at age 22 was amazingly different than any players I've seen. Many compared him to Larry Bird at the time. I saw Luka surpassing Bird at the age. Love Dirk's honesty!
As a kid watching Dirk at his finest and being a fan all these years it somehow feels really important to me that Dirk gives Luka his blessing. Mavs fans aren’t normal fans! Lol We are loyal to the end!
His nickname from 15 until he entered the draft was literally "The Wonder Boy"... it's just typical Americans who don't value anything except a 45 inch vertical leap as potential in a draft who didn't see this domination coming
Yep, i agree with you. But this american sight about basketball it's about how the sport grew in the USA, american basketball is way more athletic, they usually playing going hard in the paint and taking size-vert advantage. In an interview, Luka said that he started playing with boys whose were older than him, then he had to beat'em using his IQ instead of his athleticism, and that's what european basketball is all about, it's diferent schools of basketball.
He was never been pro at 14. he become pro at 16 but he were playing with older kids than him at 14. Obviously, the talent he had at that young age they didn't want him to waste it so they decided to be how it was. Do you think that Dennis Smith Jr. if he was playing at that young age as Luka that he will become better? NO.
Exactly! Luka was MVP and FMVP of the second best league after NBA at 18 yo playing for Real Madrid, one of the best teams in Europe. Btw top euroleague teams would beat many many teams if they played FIBA rules.
Will all due respect, stfu tryna sound like you evaluate talent and were in the know. Every draft is a crap shoot. More often than not European players fail hard in the pros

Luka is a great player, don't get me wrong, but Luka needs a ring before you give him too much props. Dirk got a ring over the Heat in their prime, that says alot about him and that squad.
Of course. Obviously, Dirk is still ranked higher than Luka on the goat pyramid. But Luka has such tremendous potential and he's so young. I'm sure we'll see him do some great things in the next 10 years.
Name a GREAT young player that has really won a ring in his first 5 years. Kobe did but with Shaq, but those days are gone. I think rondo was the last one... And you know the team he had around him.
@@TrendSettrNickthat’s what I’ve been saying for years now which is crazy to say but I’ve never gotten anything but hate when I say people want him to win faster than most alltime greats just shows how good he is

Yeah people forget that it’s not athletics, it’s basketball. IQ normally beats athleticism.
Hopefully he convince Luka to be in your podcast
Mark Cuban’s a genius! He really knows how to spot a talent overseas.
It tells you a lot about Dirk that he says he doesn’t feel like a Mentor to Luka while Luka says he sees Dirk is as his Mentor…
no one like him.
Dirk needs to mentor him; he’s got to handle his emotion
@@vannseeley9015 I think you forget that Dirk used to scream at refs too lol...
@@vannseeley9015it’s annoying but it’s the same emotions he used to give the Luka Special. It’s a package deal.
Because he is a veteran.
It is his 9th pro year.
Bird played practically 9 seasons in total before the ankle surgeries and stuff on break of back.
thank you Dirk!
Luka playing since he was 14 as a pro certainly helps. Cuba tells a good story about Luka....

Ricky Rubio was a pro at 14. But yeah, also spanish league. They crazy over there
Anyone who understood European basketball wasn't surprised Luka turned out the way he did
so Dirk doesnt understand European basketball? lol

Dude just got a 29point triple double in tbe first half and got a tech that’s the only way to stop the Luka show 😂😂😂
Yep gs fouled over and over against injured Luka w a g league roster in playoffs. Luka walks curry

DIRK IS THE KING OF DALLAS! LUKA MUST WIN TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS TO GET ON THAT LEVEL
How does he need two championships to get to the level of a dude who only has one ring?

Maybe because they actually teach the game in Europe
This is why Dirk has the statue.
Luka is playing since he was 15 professional. Of course he plays like 32 year old if you compare to players after college come to the league.

Franchise.... an awful word for a team sport. US sports just has no soul. All just money and business.
United states are the kings of entertainment bro, everything there it's about money and business, it's the capitalist spirit.
Of course, USA is number one --sport=bussiiness
Nothing new. They have no fans. Only customers with rly expensive tickets, foods and trikots 😂 its all about the money. No passion.
Imagine if the 2011 mavs had Luka and Kyrie back then. Wed have 3 more rings by now
Dirk - irreplaceable!

I won't be suprised if he has a couple by the time it's said and done. The west is gonna be fun to watch for awhile.
the guy won and was mvp in the 2nd best league of the world, you can give him props already
A lot of that win had to do with the defense they threw at Lebron
❤❤❤Luka will rip ur peluca aka ur wig
Lot of these offense first players are getting overrated in terms of winning. Putting up stats is great but not good enough
He definitely needs you and you can see it, he has wasted 5 insanely good years with that dead organization.
What? A conference final, and they're playing great this year. Bullshit comments like yours are annoying.
