I can relate to the woman that ate ice. I would crave it and order a cup of ice whenever I went out. At home I would eat all the ice cubes out the ice tray.. till I realized it wasn't enough ice. So I switched to buying bags of ice from the store every 2 days. I have been eating since I was 10 and as I got older my cravings got worse. Now I'm 37 and I still eat ice but my teeth are sensitive so I don't eat as much as I used to. It is true that most ppl that is addicted to eating it is anemic, for I have been struggling with anemia for YEARS, and iron supplements doesn't seem to work for me. But since I saw this video and learned you can get an iron transfusion I will most definitely look into that.
Well, the guy's name was Eric, and the prince in The little mermaid's name was Eric, so I don't see why he would change his name unless he forgot that was a character. 4:29 and technically he'd be a merman unless he identifys as a woman.
Remember, there's a fine line between having a hobby and an addiction! If you're putting a second mortgage on your house so you can buy your 402nd light saber, you have an addiction.
My aunt developed Pica disorder....poor thing would eat cigarette ashes and paper towels....RIP Aunt MeMe...love ya forever....she was my favorite Aunt....
I still don’t find chewing ice is strange, I mean it’s just frozen water. I do it, my mom does it. Water’s water, doesn’t matter if it’s cold frozen boiling warm or Luke sky walker warm...you’re getting your water either way
The iron anemia is true. My aunt was so severely iron anemic it nearly killed her. But she was compelled to eat aspirin like it was candy. After I begged her to stop and see a doctor, she did. Once they treated her anemia, she didn’t crave aspirin anymore. Thank goodness!
My mom was that way for a time recently, but she just had to change her diet and take a supplement. *Anemia runs in her family, though, and she was anemic as a kid, too.*

I just have to mention something because if I don't my generalized anxiety won't let me function. The last entry was understandably treated like a huge joke and some wild and crazy thing, but a lot of people use what's called Little Space as a coping mechanism. I have PTSD, generalized anxiety (caused by the PTSD), really bad sensory issues (caused by autism), and a bunch of physical issues that stress me out constantly. I use acting childish, drinking from a bottle/sippy, using soothers/pacis, playing with toys, and watching cartoons as coping mechanisms because I wasn't able to have a normal childhood, so I have it now with my husband acting as my caretaker (both in and out of little space because of my disabilities). I fully understand no harm was intended, but I struggle with racing thoughts so my brain took all of two seconds to blow it completely out of proportion. Anyhow, no harm no foul, just needed to blow off steam so I could calm down.
Age regression can be extremely soothing to us who were robbed of those core memories. Sadly it does get a few eye raised because of DDLG and people not understanding they don’t always go hand in hand. I feel you.
I feel for you. I have frequent panic attacks and get upset (to the point I'm crying) every so often for no reason at all. It happened shortly after a car accident. Having a mild Trypophobia and Bathmophobia (Holes and Stairs, Slopes, etc) doesn't help. If I do I have to go into a tiny place to help calm myself down. I even have to at work and they know about it.
The only time I’ve put paper in my mouth was to remove my loose teeth as a kid Here’s what I did Put the paper in my mouth Balled it up when it got soft and wet Yanked on the tooth and put the paper under the tooth so I can easily let it catch the blood and then I bite down which sometimes removes the tooth fully Sounds weird but it works
I remember my mom saying the same thing about bee and wasps stings. They keep you from getting arthritis as bad. Could be true. My mom did not have very much arthritis at all. There were wasp, bees, and yellow Jacket nests all around her in Missouri. It happened many years ago, Matt. It kept her from that problem anyway. Heard about people being babies too. The strangest "addiction" I have is eating that SOFT ice... it's hard to find, honestly! But there is a Spinx gas station by my house that has it and I fill a HUGE cup twice a day. Maybe I am really addicted to it. I was just diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia. So we'll see if my craving goes away once my iron is normal again. Pagophasia huh? Learn something new every day!
If you have a Sonic around there, they let you buy ice packets for like 3 bucks, and my dentist recommended I eat that ice. (I try but I’m a liiiitle outta control lol)
People also eat ice when they have to go on fluid restrictions (they have a quota on how much water is healthy for them to consume in a day and that's all they can safely have).
