- Now Playing Nationwide
Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore -- and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl's parents. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl. - Фільми й анімація
I saw this on a sunny day, with a good friend. The only other people in the theater were a pair of old ladies, but all four of us loved it.
My favorite thing about any west anderson movie is that it doesnt even hint at a money objective. The movie is clearly made for the fans not for any type of gross success or popularity. Got to praise any director with the guts to avoid Hollywood syndrome and make the film their own way yet still get the top shelf cast, Wow
Every time I see a film of his, this inexplicable dose of happiness fills me up and I'm happy for the rest of the day. I think that's one of the many reasons why he's my favorite director.
I went to go see it last night. The room was packed with 40-something couples and smatterings of young people.
I've never been in a more receptive audience in my life. Constant laughing at all the right bits, hugely audible gasps.
all footage make me love the movie more and more. oh, ms swinton is gorgeous
Yes, I just saw it today and I was amazed by the quality of the cinematography. The colors during the film popped out in a way I've never seen, it was pure genius.
Wes Anderson is hands down my favorite director. His films (at least among my college student peers) get far less credit than they deserve.
The best movie of the year!! Love every bit of the movie!

Clever. Hire a lot of famous actors to do one day of filming each, and then weeks of promotion on talk shows.
daaamn tilda
MAKE THIS MOVIE AVAILABLE TO SEE IN THEATERS IN MIAMI!
whatever. if you're not a fan of Wes Anderson style plots, that's your taste. but nobody can argue that his cinematography is always just gorgeous, seriously. he is so good. and his casts are just fucking unbelievable.
You might be tired of hearing this from brainless hipsters, but Wes is a visual genius, like we don't encounter enough in modern cinema.
Bruce Willis is cool

SINGULARITY
Interviews with everyone except the main characters. What gives?
Just saw this movie today... and I have a question. If Wes Anderson is such a "hipster" director, why were the only people in the audience myself, my girlfriend, a couple of bros that looked like they were from a frathouse, and an elderly couple? Where were all the college students with fake, big glasses and headbands? Why wasn't anyone talking about how terrible mainstream music is? I don't get it.
Except where I live...you can find them EVERYWHERE. I'll be the sole person in my local cafe or bar *Not* wearing plaid or mullet or big stupid Filbert-the-turtle glasses.
Hipsters are mainstream.
