I've been using starry ai to make spritesheets and backgrounds in my games... I want to see if one of these ais can play digital instruments... know of anything like that?

I think it will definitely change things, and it will probably become more competitive in our industry. The same type of thing happened with the advent of photography - why would someone pay for a painting? - but they still do...it's just more competitive to become a painter. And that continued with the digital camera and phone cameras - why pay for a professional photographer? But people still do. :) So I think we're ok if we continue to increase our skills constantly.
Hi Anne, i like all ur videos they all are so informative ..i am learning graphic designing and your videos are helping me.thanks for sharing you knowledge.
I use ChatGPT to write KDP book descriptions. Still need to be edited and expanded but great thought starters. Color palette suggestions have not been that helpful to me.
I tried using Midjourney to get textures for 3D software (was trying to get a texture for a wall), but I couldn't properly figure out how to word it to get what I needed. Because you need the Base Color, Roughness, Normal, etc. It just kept giving me things at side angles or with borders of other things.
Yes, I tried something similar - a background. And it really struggled with that. I think it's very good at creating fantasy scenes and specific objects, but not backgrounds or textures so much.
OpenAI's terms of use for ChatGPT state that users own all output created with the chatbot, including text and images. This means that users can reuse, reprint, and sell the output for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

Thanks again Anne, this is interesting..... but creepy too......Chat GTP/AI.....How to further devalue and commoditise your creative individuality. I've only used it like a better image reference search engine/starting point than Google search for illustration commissions. Perhaps be careful in how much you use it (and as just a tool)....It's like a drug which will dehumanise/de-originalise you the more you become reliant/hooked on it.
@@GDHT I think it's a good potential new tool, it's the ethics behind the use of it which is concerning and potentially massively devaluing too in the wrong hands. I see plenty of folks using it as a research tool like I mentioned....but far too many also passing its output off as their own work, which unfortunately does have a massive de-valuing/de-individualising effect especially if not discussed or apathetically just accepted as 'the future' without further (and more critical) consideration. My friends son has been using it to do ALL of his homework (and improving his grades due to his teacher's lack of awareness) where his knowledge (or attitude) hasn't remotely improved despite the new sheen of the grades. When his mum has tried to explain to him the downsides of it (his individual worth) he unfortunately and apathetically just declares 'but it's the future mum'. We're very easily our own apathetic worst enemy when not questioning more or easily wow'd, especially when skepticism is increasingly (and strangely) now over-encouraged to be frowned upon (or where more considered, critical thinking is now seen as 'mean' for simply containing the word critical). I've been using Adobe software for over 30 years and the commoditising direction they're increasingly heading in with their business model and software (as well as a lot of the 'art' they now choose to elevate compared to what they used to) is something to probably be just as much (or more) concerned about as being too impressed by the impressive features they sometimes add (or the bugs and convoluted work-around methods STILL remaining after so many versions.... or after many of the bolt-on frankenstein-like 'additions').
I agree with you to an extent. I don't think it should be used in unethical situations, obviously (like what your friend's son is doing). But I think of it like the invention of the calculator - of course, we should learn how to do the calculations ourselves...but why not use a calculator if one is available? AI is a similar tool - I could manually do what ChatGPT is doing - it would take several hours, in some cases. Or, ChatGPT can do it for me, and take about one minute. I do believe it could very well put our jobs at risk (or at least reduce the number of graphic designers needed). When the camera/photograph was invented, it probably massively reduced the number of painters and fine artists - now anyone could create an exact replica...but does that mean we shouldn't use a camera? Using AI is definitely controversial. Yes, it uses styles that artists have created. But it's coming up with something completely new. It's the same as an illustrator being shown art styles a client likes, then being asked to make something in that style. Like it or not, I honestly believe this is the way that art, illustration, graphic design, etc are going. We can either learn how to use the tools - 'embrace' it, or get left behind (because it's getting VERY easy and fast to make amazing art these days). Just my take. :)
@@GDHT Yeah I just think it's something to be equally (or far more) concerned by as easily wow'd by (it IS impressive though especially as a tool to aspire further from). We do live in strange times though, with an over 'encouraged' almost over 'acceptance' of any/everything via the over-prioritised and pseudo 'positivity' method (often with some 'tell ourselves something pretty' instead manipulation and apathy despite all else) while we're increasingly now 'led' towards our quickest (rather than better/more considered) dopamine hit and basic processing end goal. I hope the copywriters don't start using it to do their own graphic design (I'm thankfully, or unfortunately, both an Art director and writer)....and I already have Wix etc telling my clients that they can 'do' their logos for them (thieving potential client stealers, so much for me being the client!) so can also see myself returning to my teenage dish washing days as we continually (and willingly) commoditise (and ultimately dehumanise/devalue/de-individualise) ourselves far too easily via a dangled carrot and some horse blinders. I teach creativity (thinking different) part time at uni and have had to inform the students that submitting AI work will result in an instant FAIL......I did try the softer reasoning approach of warning them that they risk devaluing themselves and their own individuality....but half of them are already on Tinder as it is so the scary 'fail' method will probably be the better/more effective way to get through to them unfortunately. I think I'll believe in AI a little more when I go to open Photoshop one day and my computer tells me "no....I don't feel like Photoshopping today" where I'll then have to give it a warm hug it and take it outside for becoming self aware enough to know what it is and simply choosing to say no, I want to be more.
I do believe there will always be room for great designers and writers - machines just can't create innovative designs/words/advertising campaigns. But there will be far fewer, I think!

Maybe you can use AI convert images(similar style) to text first, and then put the main words into Midjourney.
You can ask ChatGPT to create actual typography and picture layouts by telling it to do things in html
