Thanks Nicole! We couldn't possibly see everyone's costumes in person either, so we are truly thankful for people like Chuck and other cruisers (along with the official 80s Cruise photographers) who capture great photos for us to piece together these events. That pic of you guys on the stairs in your European Vacation clothes was epic!! It's so fun seeing everyone's creativity!
@@Our80sLife Something you might be interested in...the film Unfrosted dropped on Netflix today. It has an enormous amount of pop culture references and also has a significant part about Sea Monkeys. The film is going to be a smash hit!
Wichita, Kansas was on NBC Nightly News last night about the Jackie Robinson bronze statue! Fun Fact: For a very brief time I was the tour guide for the Mignery Sculpture Garden in Bartlett, Nebraska, the country's largest bronze sculpture garden.
Can’t believe it’s the 40th anniversary to Sixteen Candles this year! That’s crazy! Love that movie! Next year 2025 will be the 40th anniversary for the Breakfast Club!
Hey you two!!! I'm just now watching this video, and plus I have to watch your latest ones too. Have some catching up to do too, LOL. But yeah that was definitely another fun prom to watch. Loved the costumes and everything. I hadn't seen Sixteen Candles in years, but I do love that song that the Thompson Twins did.
Hey there Al! Hope your summer is off to a great start! This was definitely a fun prom theme and felt more like a costume party than a dance, but we loved it! I agree, the Thompson Twins song is SO perfect for that scene at the end of the movie... one of my all-time favorite scenes (in any movie!)
Yes! Our friend Brian dresses up as Long Duck Dong every year on The 80s Cruise, lol! He has this contraption with a lady doll attached to bicycle handles which he carries around and refers to as "sexy girlfriend." It's absolutely hilarious!!
The Geek: This is your car, Jake? Jake: No, this is my dad's car. You said you can't drive a stick. The Geek: This is a...! This is a Rolls Royce, Jake. Jake: So? The Geek: So? So? I heard the grill alone costs five grand on this. Five grand! Do you have five grand? I don't have five grand. Jake: Then don't hit anything. The Geek: Ha ha! Don't hit anything. One of my favorite dialogues. Couldn't imagine a cop not pulling over a Rolls Royce driven by a teen super late.😂
x Awesome costumes, just watched Sixteen Candles again last week! x Was anyone Duckette? o I watched the film Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1992), looked up her profile, and saw that she played Duckette in Pretty in Pink.
I don't think so, but that's a fun idea (although it would probably need some explaining.) I love that part at the end of the movie when Duckie looks behind him to make sure she's looking at him, and then he looks right into the camera... absolutely brilliant!
You guys are definitely living your best life!❤❤❤❤
How exciting love it
This seemed like such a nostalgic cruise. Nice vlog guys
Yes it is, nostalgia overload (in the best way possible!) Thanks for watching!
Loved this! ❤ I saw costumes that I didn’t see in real life. I love everyone’s attention to detail.

This was fun, you guys are always such a blast!
Thanks for watching! 😊
A+ video!
Awesome theme, room setup, and costumes!
Glad you liked it! Thanks Ben! We agree, it was such a fun theme!

Right?! Time sure does fly, sigh.

That’s maybe my favorite theme so far,so many legendary characters from all of those movies!!
Did anyone dress up as Long Duck Dong🤣??

I saw this movie
The Geek:

Right?! That's so classic (and also utterly ridiculous!) But of course, that's why we love this movie so much!
The 16 people dressed as 16 actual candles was pretty original. Especially when they all walked down the stairs at the same time.
Agreed. That was a great moment, which I’m sure took some serious coordination, lol!
Insane that this movie is rated PG.
Ha ha, so true! There’s some sketchy comedy, but it’s still hilarious!

No one's really going to know that, her name was never mentioned in the movie only in the credits but I believe I saw one.

@@Our80sLife Just watched that clip on UA-cam again after seeing this, great moment!
lol. I love your videos. I was number six in the Andie count, but I wasn’t Andie…I was Iona lol. I saw a few other Ionas in the Andie count as well.
Ha ha, oops! 😅 My bad! You looked great though!
Aw thanks! I guess it all stems from the same dress, doesn’t it lol !!!!
I am not sure when they were popular...were spiral straws popular in the 80s?
Yes, but I remember calling them crazy straws.
Oh, those braces! I wore braces for years. But I am thankful I never had to wear that around the head thing. So awful. Poor kids!
Me too! I guess it was a right of passage, but they were pretty awful. The costume ones from Amazon only lasted about 10 minutes, lol! 😂
@@Our80sLife Ha!
Of all years for me NOT to bring out the Principal Rooney...
Right?! 😂
