This tutorial does work as of 2021 you just need to remeber to rename the new .tga files to the same thing as the ones that are made when you make the user skin folder.
You didn't specify how you managed to fit it into userfiles and make it work. Also, when I'm done editing, do I have to do more things, including having to put the layers back together as one big layer?
There's a step whereas the author says to INVERT the layers after the previous step. Then, the next step is to go to select Colors > Components > Compose. However, after attempting to follow the steps to a "T" exactly how the author recorded them, that particular step is grayed out. Now, we're lost.
Ah yes i have encountered this before... I THINK you need to make sure that before you look for the files that, in game, you select the tank you want to do the skin for and click the button for custom skins... i could be wrong but otherwise you can always search on google for sample skins for that tank
Hi there great video I did everything and it worked perfectly for about one week and then when I went back into it it keeps coming up with error reports I have uninstalled and reinstalled but the same thing have you come across this before and is there a fix?
I dont use photoshop but i think they split any image you are working on in to the RGBA on import... so you should be able to find the alpha layer on the right somewhwere

just you, i have not tested giving the files to friends to put on their pc but it is my assumption that if you give the files to friends to 'install' then they would also see the skin... but dont quote me on that
by nfile i assume you mean the normal map? at the time of the recording i don't think you could edit it and i have not played much since so i am unaware if that has changed

How do you get rid of the sample text all over the tank?

I have not experienced this, ibhave not played WT for a long time so i am unaware of any updates or fixes to this.

how to you save it into a DDS again ?? and how to make at a tga file or DDS again because how do i get the skin on my tank now??
Save each file (gun, turret, body) as TGA in the userskins folder for the vehicle your editing for
