The papers were worried about people wearing glasses to improve their eye sight, all while recommending boric acid to add to sour milk. Also, telling women to put poison drops in their eyes to brighten them up.
Am I the only one that finds it crazy that lightbulbs were only invented in the 1870s??? Like wtf? In the timeline of our world and of the US, that’s still very recent.

This is so well-made at the same time is soo relaxing. I usually play your vids on a loop while working (especially the 19th century ones), they really calm my restless mind enough to focus on tasks needing long hours while providing great visuals as well.. Thanks so much!
Once again, you have upped your Game and tremendously improved and polished the quality and comfort of your ASMR Roleplays. You've gotten quite better at playing your Roles. One of them which and also one of my Favorites, is DR. Hastings. I wish you were my Eye Doctor for Ages as someone who wears Glasses all the time. Looks like you traveled back in time to help the needy who couldn't afford a lovely, relaxing consultation with you. Well Done DR. Hastings.
The details are so incredibly realistic and well-thought of. I guess the preparation must take a lot of efforts. Thank you for this tingle feast. This is once again a masterpiece
I keep totally digging this nineteenth century series!!! 😍😍😍 This video will help me getting some sleep tonight, thank you so much in advance for the lovely tingles and the relaxation, Charlette! 🥰☺️😁
For someone who does not have enough time to go through a classic novel and enjoy at the moment, these 19th century themed videos are making up for it. Thank you so much 🥺
Everything about this is wonderful. I love the visual triggers, your tone of voice, your accent, and the quality of the production is really professional. Thank you for creating this, it was extremely enjoyable.
I am loving your 19th Century series and I just thought of an interesting roleplay idea to go along with this series....I live near Savannah GA USA and there was a yellow fever epidemic in the 19th century there and when reading the history of it, doctors at the time thought prescribing patients to drink turpentine would cure the illness...its really a sad story but I thought doing a roleplay where prescribing incorrect things would be realistic as medicine at that time was not as well practiced.
Love this series you’ve been uploading!! Whatever you did for your thumbnails totally worked, because your videos caught my eye earlier this week and I actively searched for your channel tonight because I was thinking about it :) Subscribing! Would love to see more of these for sure
Exactly - had my exam done on Friday, the lady said to me "you really do not see much without your specs, do you?" in a very suspicious way :o) have a great holidays, everyone :o)
"You should be familiar with the place by now" Me, legally blind without corrective lenses or contacts, who used to have to go to the optometrist at least twice a year: yeah just a bit
These videos are so wonderful and immersive! it took me a second to realize you’re not actually from the 19th century lol Honestly if you told me you were a time traveler I would believe you 💕💖
Whoever reading this comment, I really hope you find peace and strength to live through the day. Whatever you're going through right now, I promise it'll be okay.❤
Something about the tone of the voice and the sound resolution gives me Possibly in Michigan Vibes (in the best meaning possible, I adore the short and the voices of the actresses)
Love it but I'd like too see this again with a much longer emphasis on the eye exam part where you look into both eyes and using the candle like modern doctors use flashlights (torches).. I could do with 30min of just that but just more next time. This is an awesome realistic type atmosphere
Ah monday 21st of December 3:30am carnt get to sleep atall (had too much caffeine) but.... Looked at my UA-cam and in my recommendations i saw a savour. this video! plz keep up the awesome work and I hope you have a great Christmas 😁
Over the years I've seen many pairs of actual 19th century eyeglasses at estate sales, antique shops and flea markets. My wife has a pair, very Harry Potter.
This whole 19th century series is actually so amazing.
I love it!!!

*sigh* unfortunately not.
The papers were worried about people wearing glasses to improve their eye sight, all while recommending boric acid to add to sour milk. Also, telling women to put poison drops in their eyes to brighten them up.
I mourn for the little candle that melted into oblivion.
“are things a bit blurry for you?”

oh dude same my eyes are awful! im sitting here with my -10.5 eyes like ....hmmm

We used to live in castles? Yeah no. Pretty sure my peasant class ancestors were living in dirt floored cottages. 🤣🤣🤣
Well there were small villages in early castles I think they’re called Mot and bailey castles
Your videos are atmospheric and cinematic! really nice and pleasant to watch.
I don't know why these vintage themed videos are so wonderful to me but they really are and you excel at them.
