- There's a special kind of frustration when the surf turns on but you just are not performing where you want to be. This Memorial Day Weekend, North Florida grilled up some beautiful barrels for those quick enough on their feet. I can safely say, I gave it everything I had between the longboard and fish. Luckily the rest of the town didn't let the moment go to waste!
I'm an average board rider out of Florida who loves surfing, skating and being stoked on the small stuff. This channel is documenting my journey as a better rider and sharing what I learn along the way. I also do tons of awesome travel vlogs and interview people in the industry who share a similar stoke for life. Glad Cashew is doing well. I learned and spent most of my time surfing the panhandle, which isn’t known for quality surf. As a result, my go-to is my 9’ custom from a hometown shaper. Keep posting 😊

Hey Michael. Yeah man, I feel ya. I'm Stuck here on the Gulf Coast. I make the drive east once a month and aside from the waves, I'm constantly chasing progress! Surf skating definitely helps. Keep moving forward because that sweet redemption is just up ahead! 🤙✌

@WorkForAvocados - Surf, Skate and Stoke yea Audrey's finally cleared to go...she's not skating yet but doing therapeutic exercises and treadmill action...I was making slow progress but haven't been skating much lately ( which sux) hopefully I'm caught up on most of my responsibilities now and can get back to the skatepark. Also I'm fixing to get me an old school reissue skateboard, I like the Caballero Chinese dragon. So yea anyways much love to you bro from us
Diggin' la musica! Putting some ideas together for a longer trip to Nicaragua. What's your opinion on the shortest board that would be ideal for carving and practicing barrel riding if I was to bring one? I am 6'3", 200 lbs. I love long boarding too but need something a lot easier and cheaper to travel with. Excellent durability, good buoyancy and relatively lower cost are what I am looking for. With your travels to that part of the world, I am curious about your insights and tips about bringing a board vs. hoping to find the right one there and anything else that comes to mind to maximize the stoke. Also, did you ever get up to any of the northern breaks? All the best amigo!
Hey Raku, thanks for the comment! I can't give much advice on barrel riding as that is by far the weakest part of my surfing. I will say that pretty much every trip I've been on I went and rented a board while I was there. If I had the money and time at the moment though, I think my sessions would have been a lot better if I had brought something with me that I was used to riding. It would usually take me a few days to get used to the board and by that point the trip was already over. This rang especially true for me to my trip in El Salvador. In Nicaragua I was lucky enough to stay long term and have a longboard that I'm able to store at my friends house for when I came and visited. Never made it to the surf breaks up north, just drove through but I've heard some great things. All the best dude!
Good video. I'm from the UK. But living and surfing in Cyprus at the moment. I'm riding a 9'1 long board and a 6'10 foamy. Probably the swell here is even weaker than Florida.
It looks like you did okay to me. You can actually ride the board, that's better than well over half of the so-called surfers that I watch on the Treasure Coast surf cam
