We've gotten several comments noting the death of Chad McQueen, Karate Kid actor, race car driver, and son of Steve McQueen, who died at the age of 64. We received news of his death after our video production deadline. We will feature him in our video next Friday. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Wow 😢 Remember him playing, "Dutch" in The Karate Kid. He also appeared alongside Jim "Ultimate Warrior" Hellwig (1959-2014) in the movie, "Firepower."
Awww no Steven's son what a sad loss 😢 thank you for updating us!
I'm really sad about Chad McQueen passing away
I heard of another passing on Friday, September 13, 2024 that could be in next week's video:
Michaela DePrince, known as a trail blazing Sierra Leonean-American ballet dancer in Boston, she was in a documentary called "First Position" also on "Dancing with The Stars" and collaborated with Beyoncé on her music video called "Lemonade". She was 29 years old.
She lost her mother Elaine DePrince on Wednesday, September 11. No information on how Michaela passed has been released at this time.
I interestingly for a split second thought of James Earl Jones passing this year while watching one of your videos earlier this year. Most likely because for a second I looked at the person who did pass thinking he looked like James Earl Jones before looking at the name. Just a random thought. Like I wonder how old he is? I guess he’s still alive.
The voice, the man, and the legend. RIP James Earl Jones.
Oh, my god, I miss the Legendary black male actor James Earl Jones, man!!!! 😢
@@MariettaJames-xb6is That's the worst part of aging, knowing some day those who you admire and watched since your childhood will no longer be here.
Finally gets to see what's in the cornfield.
Yep.
@@MariettaJames-xb6iswhy do you feel the need to acknowledge that he is "black" ? Why can't he just be a legendary actor?
It was a bad week for singers/ songwriters/ musicians!😢 I am also saddened by James Earl Jones' death ! They all will be missed ! It's good to hear about fallen soldiers being identified and returned home for burial !! Thank you , Legacy !!
Right? I was just thinking the same.
Did James Earl Jones ever sing? I'm sure he had a beautiful voice.
It’s not a very healthy profession given the weird hours & eating, stress, other unhealthy habits
I just said that!!!
What I love about this channel, is I am introduced to people I have never heard of, and down the rabbit holes I go..hearing new music, new books..and the anniversaries of those that died previously brings up good memories
For instance this death on this clip who was in Sha Na Na.We would have never known his name otherwise.
@@samprimera5545 Indeed. Seen the film Grease and had no idea they were an actual band.
Snap!
@@scruffyleartist First time I heard The Cheesecake Factory was Big Bang. Then we drove by an actual one and I said oh muh dog they're real!!! (The store).Lol.
As a native Philadelphian,
R.I.P. Frankie Beverly.
As a Star Wars fan, R.I.P.
James Earl Jones.
And to the rest, R.I.P.
And again, thank you, Legacy, for another distinguished obituary, done with the utmost of class, as always.
Super sorry to hear of the passing of Sergio Mendes. As a young child of the '60s, I listened to all of his music. Great musician and a great man. RIP, my friend.😪🥺
A Brazil '66 "Greatest Hits" album is one of the extremely few albums that I have on vinyl, on cassette tape, *and* on CD. (Even though I can't pronounce Portuguese correctly, no matter how long I've toyed with the language. It makes my sinuses and ears buzz.)
Rest in peace. I will now play his Brazil '66 lovely~tempo cover of "Fool on a Hill."
Will never forget the first album of his that I heard of. Brazil 66 sparked a lifetime love of Latin American music.
R.I.P James Earl Jones! Your iconic voice was so amazing! 😢😢😢😢
The Lion King!
Darth Vader....what a voice! RIP
This is CNN
Othello, King Lear, and in the 1964 film Dr Strangelove, the copilot in the fighter jet heading (due to a big blunder, and lack of foresight consequentiality) to Russia to drop the A bomb.
As always, Legacy is the best channel in UA-cam about the passing of famous and not so famous people. They do a superb job putting together this video. It is definitely worth watching and appreciated. At least, I do truly appreciate it.
Thank you to the members of Legacy, the only channel that I watch honoring all people who have left us in this world. 🙏♥️
When you're old enough to remember The Sha-Na-Na TV Show you know it's only a matter of time before Linnea is reading your name too.😂
I enjoyed that show as a teen
RIP James Earl Jones-may the force be with you!
Repent and believe the Gospel; may the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
I will always love John Ritter. His comedic timing was perfect.. I still watch 3's company.
John Ritter was the only reason I watched 3's company. John was hilarious! Without John I doubt the t.v. show would have lasted too long.
So do I.❤
When he died I cried

James Earl Jones was a legendary actor, and he will never be forgotten. As well as the anniversary deaths with Nell Carter and John Ritter and the rest of them. May they all rest in peace 🙏🏽 ❤❤
This was a rough, rough week. I also can’t believe John Ritter has been gone for 21 years, I still miss him so much.

I am VERY VERY SORRY and she was famous to you
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in February of this year. It's been an emotional year so far.
May eternal light shine upon those that have departed from our company.
Light 🤔
I’m always impressed with the gentle presentations of those who have transitioned.
I’m 74 next month. Good times all the time in the 60s and 70s. I saw Sergio Mendez & Brazil 66 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Jose Feliciano was also on the ticket and he was marvelous! The whole show was spectacular.
RIP Beautiful Frankie Beverly we loved you in the UK.
While I enjoy this channel it also reminds me of my mortality and that my time is slowly fading too. My condolences to those who lost loved ones this week and those who lost loved ones in the past. I was fortunate to meet James Earl Jones when he was at the local Veterans Hospital filming a movie over 15 years ago and I found him to be a larger-than-life, humble, gracious person and a great actor.😢💔 Thank you Linnea❤
Everything James Earl Jones touched turned to gold, whether it was his roles as Darth Vader, Thulsa Doom, or even the narrator in "The Raven" from the first Simpsons Halloween Special. That voice is unmistakable. There's a reason he's a legend in the industry. Rest in Peace.

Rest well, my Spelman sister.
The passing of actors, musicians, songwriters, recently is a terrible loss.
Who can forget the great James Earl Jones with his iconic voice and superb performances in the movies he made. He will be sorely missed as his performance was the greatest in Hollywood. He is irreplaceable. And Sergio Mendes who introduced the Brazilian Bosa Nova rhythm which was danced all over the world for having a nice melody and great rhythm soft and sexy. I have Sergio’s music and it is iconic.
May God bless always all the people featured in this video, they were beautiful people who passed away leaving a legacy. They are all IRREPLACEABLE and UNFORGETTABLE. May they all Rest in Eternal Peace 💐🙏
And may musician Sergio Mendes and actor James Earl Jones Rest Peacefully forever……rest well, James and Sergio, rest well. 🙏💐🙏💐
Didn't realize Will Jennings wrote all those hit songs.
RIP to a great lyricist.❤
I was a fan.
I love the song called "NEVER GONNA LET YOU GO"!!!!! REST IN PEACE, SERGIO MENDES
@8:19 James Earl Jones. Rest In Peace. Many fans may be doing something like this: I'm re-watching a bunch of his movies and celebrating his impressive powerful screen presence and deep resonant voice. He will always be remembered so fondly for years to come. Thank you James, we're gonna miss and remember you...

Gosh, how I loved listening to Sergio Mendes and his band, The Brazil 66. May he continue to play in the Great Beyond.
Oh man. Screaming Scott. I love his performance when I was a little greaser (Sha Na Na fan). I had saw on UA-cam where he got the audience singing the chorus to Don't You Just Know It. Rest in peace.

In the skit they did as showgirls singing "I Enjoy Being A Girl" -- Screamin''s character got to deliver this choice line to Bowzer's former-showgirl-who-gave-up-stardom-for-a-home-and-family-and-PTA-meetings character : "You always were a leader, Trenchmouth." It's stuck with me for over 45 years.

RIP Sergio Mendes. If you want to have fun, request a hired band play "I'm Never Gonna Let You Go" by SM. The 22 key changes will drive them mad. 🤣
That is my favorite song of his.
I am heartbroken by the loss of James Earl Jones. I will miss his rich voice and his silliness, like on Big Bang Theory
Sorry to hear that Chad McQueen died @ 64, his sister Terri died years ago @ 38 yrs old...both past on before their mom Neile, at least she has her grandchildren.
RIP Chad💐🏍️💐
I always thought they said tears in heaven was written by Clapton about his son.
Frankie Beverly, he left an unending legacy of high quality music, Godspeed sir...🙏🏽🕊
He had a Smooth voice.
The death of James Earl Jones, hit me hard. His command of the stage and in film was utterly amazing. The first time I ever saw him on film was the movie Conan The Barbarian, I was seventeen. And, his voice...that amazing voice, he could of read the dictionary and people would listen thinking it was a novel.
Rest Peacefully.
I'm saddened by the death of Frankie Beverley, one of my all time favorite singers.
May they All rest in eternal peace and love of our God
It is very difficult to hear of someone's transitioning, especially after they've led, in some instances, a full and impactful life. Their work and public persona has brought them into our lives, and in many ways, we identify with them, like a member of our family. Thank You as Always for your Dignified presentation, and may the Families, friends and fans of those presented know that Heartfelt Condolences are being expressed with prayers. 💔🙏🏾🙏🏼🌹💔🌹

Loved his voice, it was smooth like Marvin Gaye.
He has a great voice in his acting career, including playing Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, voicing Mufasa in the Lion King, Terrance Mann in Field of Dreams, and he was in 2 Coming to America movies!!!!! Rest in peace, James Earl Jones, and thank you for bringing us the amazing movies!!!!!
2:14 Thank you for keeping us informed! I pray for all the families. You will never accustomed to death!! Your voice is soothing! I pray that all families may have peace!

Oh Really 🥴
Yes. Rest In Peace, Lord Vader (James Earl Jones). May The Force be with You.
I will never forget going to see "Conan the Barbarian" when it came out in 1982. When JEJ, as "Thulsa Doom" took his helmet off for the first time, and revealed the wig underneath, the entire theater erupted in laughter. But we didn't laugh long. His performance was so riveting. RIP to ALL who have passed on 🕊️...
i remember that 👍
Only the Caucasian people laughed.

RIP Sergio Mendes. If you have the inclination, look up the documentary Sergio Mendes: In the Key of Joy. It covers his life and his career, and shows him recording and jamming with his friends and fellow musicians. Excellent documentary about a timeless musician.
Frankie Beverly had such a smooth soulful voice, loved his music.
Sergio Mendes- Never gonna let you go, my favorite song of his. I played it so much when it came out in the 80’s.
The music world lost two talented singers this week.
Wow !
That's the frankie that sang the song We are one, if so I use to like playing that song in my first honda civic in the early 80's.

TY for your beautiful tributes & half-staff memorials. May they all RIP. Lifting prayers & condolences for their loved ones. God Bless You & stay safe.
Sad and heavy hearted to learn of Frankie Beverly making transition. I was just listening to some of his music a couple of days ago and then learn he’s transitioned.

So sad to hear the dead of the greatest Sergio Mendes, as an American Brazilian Spanish, I grew up listening his music during my childhood in Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia D.F.. I got very emotional, songs like Mais que nada, and Ovaria obao will live forever on me. I am glad that my parents had his all long play records. Live continue in paradise to you Sergio Mendes and the rest of the greatest people mentioned too❤
Thanks. ✌🏻👊🏼
I'm confused. The story was always that Eric Clapton wrote "Tears in Heaven" for his son who died. Now we're being told that someone ELSE wrote the lyrics? Interesting.
Hi, SunshineCatwoman. Will Jennings is credited as co-songwriter of the song "Tears in Heaven." As far as we understand the story, Clapton had written the first verse but asked for Jennings help with additional lyrics to finish the song. Jennings confirmed in interviews that the song was inspired by the death of Clapton's son and he was initially reluctant to work on such a personal song, but Clapton insisted that he wanted Jennings help. It was very much Clapton's song, but Jennings did contribute to it and shares a songwriting credit. Thanks for watching!
