Nice work. I've used the Toro version a bit. Very capable if time is on your side! I've always found it easiest to pick the lowest corner or end and have the bucket set at level then push forward, dump then reset and repeat. That way you can always take more off and not end up with low points. You'll have to get down to clay regardless to form a sole plate. Get a shovel (mechanical or hand) then dig a 12" wide by 4" deep perimetre ditch for reinforcement. If there were to be a structure built, you would add those ditches to wherever a wall or significant load would go. Nice vehicles. I wish they were affordable in Australia. Not even Landcruisers are affordable anymore. 😔

One thing I was taught when I started running a motor grader is if you get to wash boarding an area, you have to change something to straighten it out. I found that to be true whether running a dozer, loader, motor grader or even a box blade on a tractor. Keep up the good work.
Wash boarding as in humps? Once I started leveling out a spot for the machine to start at it seemed to get easier/more consistent. We were both in a rush, will need to try again when we have more time!!
Well Jake it was a great day to do dirt work you did a good job seeing you don't really do a lot of the dirt but you will get better the more you do. And yes Mike always says start off level and you can never go wrong. Yes I watch outdoors with the mogans too. Like his videos also well keep it up jake.

The cormidi was perfect for that job . When ever possible I have always used the pto tiller first too grind down and mix everything . I found it easier using a tractor too remove . Starting back farther like you said too start the grade is what I do also . It’s Probably one of the hardest things too do with a tractor and if you don’t start level right from the beginning it’s always a disaster . You guys did a really good job . 👍👍👍
very informative! I am going to rent a small skid steer to dig 5-6 inches of top soil for my backyard project. Should I start excavating from the highest point to low point of my existing grade? and does "float mode" help in maintaining the grade? Thank you!
I would use the cut and fill method, remove material from where it’s too high and redirect to areas that need to be raised. Float is good for final grading or back dragging
In this scenario the Cormidi for sure, it was a pretty narrow tight spot. Plus the big teeth on the bucket helped a lot. If I ever get around to installing my piranha tooth bar on the tractor bucket I’m sure that would help as well!

I talked a little about it in the first video I made of it. I’m all about dealer support, just so happens my Kubota dealer also sells Cormidi and they’ve been great so far with support. The other factor was lift capacity, the Cormidi is one of the higher rated machines out there (1500lb lift) while maintaining a compact footprint. The last factor was the fact that it’s totally modular, the entire loader part can be removed and an aerial lift, dumper, cement mixer, etc. can be added on to the base.

No ID numbers, no nothing. 0:28 And I don't know how to send pictures of it yet. But I aint founded on the internet or anything like that. I got a $67 from Lennox. And this don't even it's got height. This one's got hydraulic system. Raise and lower in the bucket control. But it's a minute you sit down on it. And it's for the backyard, it's a little one. Something like a kid could run.

It worked well! The soil was soft here so luckily a tiller wasn’t needed. Getting the grade is tougher than it looks!

you can start uneven you gotta finesse the bucket as you drop to the lower grade until the machine gets lower.

It does great. Turn the power sensitivity knob down and it won’t bog down at all

They sell them with different size loaders and base units mid 30’s would be about right for this unit.
