Thank you very much for the informative video. Is it possible to use a URL shortener like bitly to bulk shorten the unique urls and send the service via SMS. Would the URL still work
I would think they would still work, because they’re redirecting to whatever URL you give them when they’re clicked. I haven’t tested it to say for sure though.
@@bi-ome I tried with single shortened link, and it worked, so hoping that the bulk will also work. I also tried to move the prefilled text as a hidden field (that will be skipped by branching), but Microsoft is too smart, it does not prefill the hidden / skipped field :)
@ Thanks so much for sharing! They do really need to let you hide these things… there’s a MS MVP summit coming up, will see if I can find a Forms person to nag about this there :)
Not right now, but I started a thread to vote on this feature - the link is in the video description if you want to vote on it! I agree it’s a necessary add to make it fully usable :)
Hi Christine. I've built a Power Automate flow that checks a Review Date in Power BI. If the date is today, it sends an email with a constructed URL, pre-filled with the Item number so the recipient doesn't have to search for (or guess) the correct ID to report on. It's pretty cool, if I say so myself 🙂 I've also voted for your suggestion; that's a very good idea.
That sounds cool! I'm curious what-all people use prefilling for now. You could make a Power BI report feedback mechanism with it too, and re-use the same form for all your team's reports and just prefill the report ID in the links. I did this once back in the day with canvas apps, its really nice to not have to go there anymore. 🤣
Thanks for the video. Is this pre filling option is only available in group form? Also, for storing the data of the form into SharePoint list, the power automate connector (When a form is submitted) will work?
Prefilling will work without a group, but a group association is required for the Excel sync. The Power Automate connector should still work with the prefilling.
Here's the link to vote to improve pre-filling! feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/6248b3a3-9a6b-ef11-a4e6-000d3a02a3a1
Done
Just perfect!!! helped a lot!
Thank you so much this helps a lot.
Thanks for making this video, i was so unaware of this feature.
So great. Can't believe we can't do this by default.

Perfect! Good video 👍.
Q. Can we restrict user not to touch those fields, so that those fields should not be changed by end user?
