I just burst into tears as soon as Melissa came in and lifted my hands as they sung And now let the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich. This song took my back to my childhood in church. I never understood it then. How I do now! The Lord has done so much for me! Thank you Jesus. Thank you Steffany!
Me too. I also did. This song really took me out of one sad moment. I was very sad and when it says: "and now let the weak say I am strong... " I really could feel God was next to me. It was really beautiful and I cried. Sometimes when I sing this song I remember that moment when I cried because even when I felt poor, it reminded me that I am rich because I have Jesus.
Same here! I was born in 1977 and grew up in church but not a Christian home. These songs were my lifeline. The deeper understanding I have of these words in my 40s versus my 20s is a gift from God. Lost both my parents and went through a very difficult time in the last 5+ years but what else can a child of God say but GIVE THANKS.

These ladies have taught me what worship truly is - because God had to send examples on UA-cam to get my attention. @@osyoso_ilonggo meaning through watching and listening to them, I saw the demonstration of what true worship looks and sounds like. I was confined in my worship and learned that when we totally surrender - as these ladies do anytime they are singing - the Holy Spirit can express through us. Hopefully this makes sense 🙏🏼❤️

I was a kid...visiting a church without a roof about 3 months after Hurricane Andrew hit Miami. We were there serving all these folks Thanksgiving Dinner and they held a worship set beforehand. Watching these folks who lost EVERYTHING sing this with their hands up to Heaven...I was 12. Never forgotten their level of gratitude...

Iam wiping my tears away as I listen! I didn't know what I was singing as a little girl in church beside my daddy and my grandmother. Now I understand the lyrics 🥺 I miss them both so much it hurts! Iam so thankful for glimpses of a sweet childhood. This song, along with others takes me back to that country pew with a hymn book watching my grandmother play piano while my aunts and family sing along! Special memories!!
I’m the same way my friend! Used to sing this all the time as a kid or listen to my parents sing duet. My dad passed away last year and hearing this brings so many memories. And the lyrics hit differently now that we’re older and understand the song more

Oh I love this song from my childhood church. I sing it spontaneously as an adult now that’s why I had to look up this specific song! My life is far from perfect but God is always with me:) It’s such a beautiful song!!! I am so grateful to God.
