Thanks for the tips man! I’m gonna try this on my rm 85 big bore! Just did a full top and bottom end rebuild and it ran fine until I got it out today and 3,000 kicks later still no start up!
What's another way you've learned how to get your dirt bike running again? Please share your experience to help others! What videos would you like to see in the future?
@Dimetri Drossos Hey Dimetri, sorry to hear about your problem. Do you have an OEM manual to follow when you're rebuilding it? Hard to say what the ticking is, but perhaps it's the timing chain... If that hasn't been replaced recently, then it might be time to put a new one in. As far as the hard starting, again it's hard to say. Incorrect timing (as you mentioned), poor jetting, or low compression (worn piston rings or valves) are the most common on a bike like that.
Bro my dirtbike doesnt want to start i was riding in a river with sand, got stuck in the sand then rode a little and my bike stopped working, i cleaned the carb when i realised my bike wont work but still no use, i have a beta rr 300
hey, i have a crf100, just put in a new carb, air filter, and spark plug, but it won’t crank when i try to kick it. every now and then it will start a tiny bit and then turn back off. what could this be?
Hard to say. If it's a cheap chinese carb, they can be difficult to tune properly. Did you try all of the tips in this video? Did it run with the old carb?
I have a baja 50 cc 4storke with new carb I have spark I have new fuel And compression The bike only starts and runs for 3sec with choke off and no gas given if i gas it , it will not turn on , it also doesnt start with choke on any idea how to fix
So I need help I have a crf150rb 2015 and I checked the carb and it was clean and I changed the spark plug and it still won’t start I cleaned out the old gas and same old same old. I bought new oil recently because the clutch oil was empty could that be why it’s not starting? I need help it’s been a month since I got it and I want to ride it.
Did it start fine a month ago? How doy yo know the carb is clean? Sometimes there's some small passages that have a tiny bit of crud in them. An ultrasonic cleaner is the best way to clean a carb. There's an article on my website about it.
@@MotocrossHideout I bought it about a month ago and when I bought it they said they had it sitting for a while and had to bump start it. Also I cleaned out the carb 3 times.
Hard to say for sure without seeing it in person, but if it ran fine before it sat, then that's still leads me to believe the carb is dirty. How did you clean it? Did you drain the gas tank and put fresh gas in? You could try pulling the spark plug off and putting a few drops of gas down the hole and then try starting it.

When I turn on my fuel it goes down into the carb so I assume I'm getting fuel. I've had people say it's flooded but I don't know what's wrong
Hot start is only meant to help when the engine is hot. Are you having trouble starting it when the engine is hot or cold? The valves may be out of spec. Have you checked the clearance yet? Before that, make sure you're getting fuel. Try splashing a few drops of gas down the spark plug hole and see if it starts.

Hard to say, as the Chinese parts aren't the highest of quality. Is it currently getting spark? When you say ignition coil, do you mean the CDI box or spark plug wire?
MotocrossHideout and yes it is getting spark i don’t know if it has a oil level sensor that may be the problem on why it won’t start the oil ran out before the bike started acting weird
So you ran it out of oil? Does the engine still turn over? If the engine is in good condition then it simply needs air fuel and spark to start. Make sure it's properly getting all 3.
