  • Almost everyone has seen these in stores, but if you've never made them you might wonder about the difficulty or how well the size works for 18" dolls. Join me as I make SEVERAL of them and let's find out!
    As always, I appreciate you choosing to spend some time with me today! Please leave a comment below to let me know what you think of the video. You can also find me at agtakesover@gmail.com and @ag_takesover on IG.

    I love anything in miniature so this was a fun video to watch. Thanks for sharing!

      Thanks for watching - I ended up curing the things in the sun the next day, and I don't know that this is worth it for ppl who are strictly 18" doll collectors. But what doesn't work for the AGs certainly might work for the WWs or the Caring for Baby dolls. Plus it was fun to do - it "scratched an itch", so to speak.

    Woo, I’m glad the drinks were in pretty good scale! They looked really small while you were making them. And at least your little one can use the rest 🎉

      Yeah, we ended up setting everything out in the sun the next day because it's not the heat but the UV rays that cures the resin. So that part worked out, and it was fun enough. But it "scratched an itch", so to speak. These are not cheap enough or large enough to make me interested in buying more. The drinks are definitely the best and we'll use them pretty regularly, I think.

      Don't get too excited - I feel like this scratched an itch and I don't know if I'll get too many more of them. Unless you want to get me one from the "lifestyle" series as a stocking stuffer lol.

      Thanks for watching - have fun catching up! (I usually don't speed ppl's videos up, but I have a lot of catching up to do myself, so I've been speeding them up a bit to watch them a little faster).

    I have fun making these with my daughter who’s the same age. Miniatures are so fun and satisfying

      A friend just gave me three of the houseplant ones because she got doubles. We did them with our 4 year old. I like that there was no resin involved so she could do them. But they don't stay in very well and I've seen that some people add a bit of resin just to make them more stable.

    Im so exited for this! I tried miniverse but the finish product was WAY off scale! But the individual items, like berries can works, if just a bit small.

    • @agtakesover
      @agtakesover  2 місяці тому

      Yeah, they're mostly too small, but some of them make good miniatures for the dolls. Like, "That's not meant to be a full-sized tart. It's an hors d'oeuvre!" lol

    The drinks ended up being a cute size for the dolls, I especially like the lime one! I've seen these sets before but I've been too intimidated to try making one lol

      It was fun, but all in all I don't know that I'd recommend them since the possibility that they won't be a good size for AG dolls is pretty decent. If they're on clearance and you can grab one or two cheap, though, it's an easy enough craft. Just use a UV light or the sun to cure the resin :)

    Very cute! I believe you can use a gel polish lamp to set these. I kept looking for the mini books and never saw them anywhere, but maybe it’s for the best, I would have been too disappointed if I opened it up and didn’t get the babysitters club in my mystery ball 😂

    • @agtakesover

      Yeah, I used to have a gel polish lamp but sold it a few years ago. It doesn't seem worth it to get one just for these mini-makes since they're generally too small for AG dolls. We ended up just curing everything for a few minutes outside the next morning. The mini-books are definitely very small, too. We have a few and the size works because we have a lot of other mini books that are larger. If an AG doll library ONLY had those tiny ones, though, I think it would be a bit odd.

    I have a lot of these. I find them too small for AGs, I use them for my Rainbow High.
    The liquid is resin and it needs a UV light or the sun to dry. You can use a nail light or a UV flashlight.

    Speaking from experience, UV resin works a lot better than the sun just cause you don’t have the unpredictability of the clouds getting in the way or a switch from sunny to rainy and cloudy definitely invest in one of those small UV handheld lights that stay inn for 60 seconds and if it’s still not cured then pop it back under for another 60 seconds it works wonders

    • @agtakesover
      @agtakesover  2 місяці тому

      I would do this but honestly I feel like this scratched an itch and I probably won't buy more of them lol. We did cure them in the sun the next morning and although possibly inefficient, it worked.

    I love these but haven't tried them yet. I've watched some other youtubers make them, and they usually use a UV flashlight. You can get some cheap ones online, but who knows if those would actually work!
    I'm excited to try some mini verse soon. Because I also collect the mini AG dolls, a lot of the smaller things would be perfect for them.

    We use a little UV light from Amazon it works great.

      Yeah, I used to have one for gel nail polish but the days of regularly painting my nails are WAY too far back in the rearview mirror to still have that light lol.

    Some of the new mini brand master chef capsules actually come with a UV light. My daughter wants to get the mini verse kitchen that has a UV light in the oven bc we watched some UA-cam videos. It’s more Barbie size but adorable.

      That's fun! I think this satisfied my urge to make these (especially since I also started experimenting with polymer clay this year and now have more options for making mini foods). But it was fun and it was nice that we could just pass on whatever didn't work size-wise to our daughter for her smaller dolls :)
