    Switched also from the 14 pro to the 15.

    Really amazing results with ONLY 30 seconds. I can take 4 minutes with the pixel 7 pro and it doesn’t look better. Crazy

      Pixel has its place. The sky is almost as good as a pixel I would say. The foreground on Pixels is not nearly as good as this.

      With your light painting techniques, I have been able to have a nice foreground with the galactic core above, although, some clouds cover part of the photo, its always cloudy here

    I’ve just begun Aurora chasing and it is NOT going well with an iPhone X. I love this little guy but it’s time to go for the big one. People in my local FB group were getting shots I didn’t think possible on the phone, and they had 12s and 13s! I am so excited to get back into photography with the Pro Max.

    These came out pretty spectacular I must admit. Definitely will have to try this in the future. As an add on tip with using the speedlights to freeze the trees, keeping the power to 1/8 or less is the absolute key. The goal is to have the shortest flash duration possible. Cheers. 🍻

      Hi, how do you trigger the speedlight from the iPhone? Is this a special speedlight that can take bluetooth signal from the iphone or something? I am going to Alaska to see the norther lights and would like to be able to take photos with my iPhone with Norther Lights in the background and would like to be able to flash to see mine and my wife's faces in the foreground. Shayne, i took your tips from previous videos, and glad you did this one too as i just bought the 15 pro, a tripod etc. I took pictures last night at 10pm and 2:45 am had a bit of light pollution and i can say thumbs up to everything you're saying! All the tips are spot on I took the picture before watching this vid, in the exact same way 30sec etc. and the result is insane! I compared with Nightcap app and its so much better the native app... Thanks for showing how you edit the pics too briefly, i didn't know how to bring them to life more - keep the content coming mate! One question i have is how you make the trees non blury? 30 sec exposure + wind makes it hard to have non-blurry trees - will you be doing a timelapse star video with the iphone 15? That's the next thing i'd like to shoot in the night

I also have that bloody horrid issue with ExpertRAW on the S23U. Been that way for a few months now. Still no fix. Ive also never broken a screen on an iPhone. Have broken the screen on a pixel and on S22U. Every phone has positives and negatives.

    Hey I’ve found something you might be interested in! 💡
    A few videos back you were making star trails but the app made the quality worse..
    Since then I’ve found a solution which is very good but also takes some setup time:
    Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control > Turn it on
    Make a recording that says “12” (or the number you get for the shutter button in the camera app) every ≈40 seconds, for whatever period you would like it to be
    Let the audio play on a different device
    Set the iPhone up to your likings and make sure Voice Control is turned on
    Play the audio and once every 40 seconds it will automatically “press” the shutter button which will result in a great interval camera but without quality loss

    Yup, I must agree, the best iPhone so far for night shots. Even when you do hand held shots it magically can combine it. I guess it takes advantage from the 48mpx photo, so it can crop and process it into 24 mpx RAW combined from multiple shots. I think it could do even better with its computing power.

    • @ShayneMostyn
      @ShayneMostyn  8 місяців тому

      Not cropping, it uses pixel binning to do this.
