That’s a sweet setup on the 5500! Wet red clay is like ice. Looks like it’s 4WD but it wouldn’t matter if it was 8WD, that crap is slick!! My old service truck at work was a Ford 550 rear wheel drive and I think I could have got it stuck on wet grass. Lol. Probably would have made a huge difference if I could have had all 6 wheels pulling though. Great videos each and every day! Keep it up! God bless from Arkansas.

Those maintainer beds are sexy ASF especially on a Dodge 5500.

Look into getting BFGoodrich KM-2s for your trucks, great for mud and are almost silent on the street. Also Goodyear MTRs with Kevlar sidewall are great.

It's all about the tires. Self cleaning with some weight on them.

Thank you for stating that. I get so tired of seeing videos saying this brand is the best and that brand is better. Tires are what really play the big part at moments like this. Without good tires and traction a truck is nothing but an expensive rock.

Exactly right it is all about the tires.

You know it is slick when those heavy trucks spin way too easy.

These trucks sink and spin so bad. We have a 97 Chevy 3500 dually that’s solid axle swapped with a slightly hotter then mild towing cam (it needed it bad) that really only gets used to go into places it never should get into or come out of while pulling equipment with a plow on the front and a service bed on it. I think the only reason it goes through and our fords and dodges won’t is that it’s a gasser regular cab with a much shorter wheel base so the thing weights a lot less and will bounce along through everything, she got the solid axle because I got real sick of laying in the mud replacing tie rods and lower control arms

Ok for anyone who knows nothing about service trucks.
#1 The driver behind the wheel is key
#2 Weight distribution is also Key here.
My F-550 diggs like a mofo through all snow, mud whatever it's 2wd, as long as my weight distribution and tires are good it'll climb this hill. Obviously guy 2 can't drive sorry!! 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣

last time I drove in slick like that I had to take two ratchet straps put them around the tires and crawl in low even with nitto grap mt's. However the old super duty does great under heavy strain/load. Never did care for my dodge that had the hemi. Im gonna try a cummins someday

Dodge ever do something about the rear springs in the 5500, one of the company trucks we have is an 08 Sterling Bullet which is a re badged 5500 the rear suspension is awful, rides bad and weak springs truck has 88,000kms (55,000 miles) truck doesn't get used a whole lot. Brakes are awful as well the POS has burned through 3 sets of brake pads front and back, new brake rotors, the last brake job was pushing 3 grand.

Have you thought about putting tires on that snow plows use or an AT tire. Ones you can put together as a pair. Maybe caring tire chains or yank strap. Just sugesting.
