Newt and Hicks really made this film as great as it is and it’s why this is my favorite Alien film. Plus it’s more fun that it’s a military group then just random workers being killed, it’s more fun. Also to see that even trained soldiers aren’t any match for it makes Ripley even more impressive

"This movie is something else!" You said that twice. And for me, a lifetime fan of Aliens, it's such a joy seeing new generations becoming fans of this extraordinary masterpiece. You are far from the only one that compare Aliens to today's movies & say it is just as good. Many even say that Aliens puts films of today to great shame, which i totally agree with. Aliens is about true, real heroism. And it's cool as hell. A real adrenaline rush. That is why it's been a cult classic since day 1 & keeps on going. Bill Paxton (RIP) that played Hudson used to say that Aliens is the film that keeps on giving. How right he was! And it also keeps making new fans of people that were not even born by a longshot back in 1986.
Kabir, I've seen this movie several times but watching you jump and scream and swear was a real treat. You actually scared the hell out of me when Ripply was about to crawl under the cot with Nute and you yelled "what if Ripply went AAAAHHH to Nute" as you leaned into your camera and looked right at us. Was not expecting that, good job.
Perfect way to explain it. The two movies feel almost like two different people writing from a promo, the two different takes. They’re truly great films
Did you notice the badass actress who play Vasquez was also in Terminator 2? She was John Conner’s step-mom who stabbed her husband through the milk carton with the liquid metal arm-sword.
I watched this in a theater when it first came out. The sound was loud and intense, and the whole effect was to make this the scariest film I've ever seen. Brilliant piece of film making. Thirty four years later, I still remember the experience like it was yesterday. Great reaction. Love your channel.
I watched this with my older sister in the UK when we were kids and then I had to go to bed. Worst nightmares I've ever had lol. Great reaction as always m8. Not bad for a southerner lol 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Agree that the VFX are amazing... and there WAS no CGI. It didn't really exist in the way we're used to at that time. Most of it was models, miniatures, composites and optical printing. Yet outside of a couple of matte lines that are a little thick and noticeable, it's near perfect.

The nearest to cgi that year was _The Flight Of The Navigator_ .
When Nute fell down that Air Shaft and into the water. A VERY CLOSE Family Friend was put into the Alien Suit to NOT cause her trauma from filming the seen. George Cameron took Great Pains to NOT have the children traumatized while filming.
I watched this in the theater when it was released in 1985 with my friend, and we were totally blown away. I think we watched it twice on opening weekend. That was the era of the action movie for sure. Terminator, Aliens, First Blood and Rambo, Road House, etc… but this was my favorite of the era. I only remember this movie’s release date so well because I shipped off to basic training in the Army just a week later. Great reaction!
Everyone worries about Bishop being a similar problem as Ash from the first movie. There's a big difference, mainly Ash was property of the company and was programmed by their people. Bishop isn't part of the company, he's owned and operated by the military and assigned to this unit. He's programmed to be support for these soldiers. There's very little risk that he will do something nefarious in the company's interest.
Depending on the cut you saw we learn that Ripleys daughter died before Ripley made it back home. So her protection and devotion to Newt may be to protect the daughter she didn’t get to

Quite a few people in this movie were killed by a terminator and an alien and one was killed by a terminator, alien and a predator, Bill Paxton RIP. I've watched this one so many times including in the theater just a classic in how to do scifi horror.
Kabir- Please check your math, Alien is 43 years old. Aliens is 36. I'm surprised you didn't recognize Michael Biehn, "Hicks" was also "Kyle" in Terminator.
All these modern day action movies that have a big epic ending with all the buildings collapsing and cities being destroyed. But here we have one of the best action movies and the end battle has no more that 4 hits, but is still tense and exhilarating...
Burke was played by Paul Reiser from the 90s sitcom Mad About You; his character was a nerdy tv writer. This role was a complete 180 from that. Carrie Henn (Newt) quit acting after this and became a high school English teacher. She's done a few conventions but doesn't miss acting. I love Vasquez. I wanted to see her in more roles like this.
"Alien" and "Aliens" are two different genres of movies; the first was had more terror/horror elements, this is almost a straight up action movie with some horror elements.
Why did you find it so unbelievable that the Alien used thed the lift? We had just seen it's intelligence and it's ability to understand threats and reason. But yet you don't question that, you question it's ability to press a button... lol
Talking about the tunnel and then Bishop going into the tube is just packed with character moves. Hudson is all like "yeah, man.... Send the Doll" (there's an actual edit of that scene where that's what he said, I wish they kept it in the final cut".. But then we have calm collected Bishop who tries to make a joke and smiles to himself. Vasquez, the gun loving female just hands Bishop a pistol... Like I said , We get a whole bunch of character expo in like 30 seconds... It's so great... This movie is so fookin great... All the way through you're pumped and excited and a tiny bit scared... A whole range of emotions, then at the end of all that high adrenalin action you have Newt hugging Ripley while crying "Mommy"... So all the feels.
Now you know why so many consider Aliens to be the best movie from the Alien franchise. I'm glad you watched the extended version, it's definitely better than the theatrical release.

32:13 They hunt by Heat sonar, the hissing isn't because it's mad lol. The Xenomorphs hissing is a location finder for seeing things with body heat and motion. Which is why i believe the queen allowed the little girl to survive, with the tactic that someone would come to rescue her = more hosts. Her hiding would not shield body heat, and her moving about in the vent bend. This nest is made up of human DNA, so the intelligence of the Xenomorph queen will be some what high. I remember watching some sort of science show talking about sci-fi technology vs. reality. They talked about the loader mech in this movie, stuff in Star Trek, etc. Basically, they said the only thing holding us back from making a lot of these things was battery technology. Even in 1986 they said they could build that loader mech, but it would have to be connected to the wall by a power cable.
Loved your reaction. Imagine seeing this in the dark on a 30 ft screen! I love watching these movies 1st time in the theater. Audience reaction really enhances. Even the different Alien trailers were scary!
You just can not beat good practical effects even with the best cgi. In this movie it's like you are watching real creatures that are right there with the actors. Not once do you think any of the aliens or eggs or anything look fake. This will still be one of the greatest movies ever made even 100 years from now.
I like Alien better, because it follows the horror genre doctrine that what you don't see is scarier than what you do see. It's a suspense horror movie, while Aliens is an action movie. Love this movie (my favorite) and I guess I'm just different, because I like the third movie too!😜😊 Don't let the age of a movie trip you up, good movies come in every era and they are still worth watching. 🙂
Some of my favorite movies are from a whole century ago. But it is normal for young people to be impressed with the age of some films. They just came to the world just a few years ago, 20 years sound like a eternity when we are young, more than that is prehistoric. 😄

Never figured out why they never use the simple strategy vs. the face huggers of keeping your mouth shut and covering it with one hand while grabbing on to the thing with their other hand.
Oh and another James Cameron action sci fi film you may want to check out. The Abyss. Excellent movie. Late 80s or early 90s, can't remember. But very good.
Third Officer Ripley has been found and returned to near-Earth with a Xenomorph-sized case of PTSD. What will The Weyland-Yutani Suits make of her blowing up the "Nostromo"? 2:16 Foreshadowing.. 2:47 You're watching the Special Edition version, which adds weight to Ripley's journey. 7:05 Jenette Goldstein is/was a bodybuilder. 7:42 The Colonial Marines are going on a Bug Hunt, but THEY are The Bugs! 9:32 Why wasn't Jones the Cat taken by the Xenomorph? Too small to serve as a host, like the Hamsters. 10:47 In 1986, I wondered how Ripley was able to "get close, quickly" to Rebecca while the female Marines didn't. A reviewer of the time said: "Sisterhood!" I doubted that, and when I bought the Special Edition Laserdisc(!) I got my answers. 11:36 Disarming the troops going into a hot zone always bothered me. 13:15 Ripley is all about The Team. 14:00 The "nose art" on the Drop Ship says: "Colonial Marines: We Endanger Species!" 15:59 Corporal Hicks is Big Daddy. 25:50 They went out like Klingon warriors! 27:19 The right tools for the job with Duck tape. 28:50 Egg chamber. 29:25 Let's negotiate. 31:34 It's not over yet. 33:56 If you listen carefully after the credit crawl you will hear a "wet, slithering thing" moving from left to right. Ellen Ripley's journey isn't over yet...
To really get the full impact of this movie you should watch it at a theater. The THX sound was really used well and they used to play movies so loud the speakers would vibrate your seat. I think this was PG-13 or maybe R but me and my buddies always looked older than we were so we had no problem getting in. The 1980s really was a great decade for movies.
T2 and this movie 2 of best sequels ever, both James Cameron. But the best thing about this movie is its so female centered. Ripley and Vasquez ran rings around everyone. And in the final battle it came down to 2 mothers. There is nothing in nature more vicious and merciless than a mother protecting their young. Moms will fu*'k you up, man. Lol
Quite a few major plot holes in this movie but because it's so well paced you never really notice them. If only they would listen to Ripley... That picture of Ripley's daughter, aged 67. That was a picture of Sigourney's Mother before she died. Those are real tears from Ripley.
27:41 At this point of the movie, actually, the remaining aliens are probably few. The number of colonists to use as hosts was limited (154 if I recall correctly, and many should have been simply killed during the initial invasion, rather than cocooned). A pretty large number of aliens have been already eliminated by the Marines at this point, especially thanks to those sentry guns and during the other battles. And a good number probably is still hanging around in the colony, in search for the humans, at the time Ripley is into the hive under the main reactor to find Newt.
Alien is the better movie, but Aliens is most peoples favourite. I know that sounds a bit odd. I know that Alien is a better movie, but I would rather watch Aliens. Aliens has a lot of 're-watchabillity'.. Watching Alien for the first time is a far better experience than watching Aliens for the first time. But when you've seen Alien 4 or 5 times it kinda loses that suspense and tension and the only time I've gone back to re-watch it is because I was showing it to my Son... But as a contrast to that, I can happily watch Aliens over and over.
43 years ago. I know that because the revolution in Iran started that year. I saw it when it came out too. Talk about years ago, I was a teenager. Now I'm a broke down old woman LOL.
There are two movies that stand out to me as having strong female leads - Alien(s) & Terminator 2. Other honorable mentions go to the Hunger Games & the Silence of the Lambs. There are probably others that I haven't seen.
Ohhhhhhh this is gonna be fun. Let me just clarify that her dream is a dream but she WAS out there that long. This is better than the first and sorry to say as a spoiler....Noot dies in the 3rd one. What's more, the picture of her daughter is really her real mother. One more thing, the actress playing Vaszuez is Jewish actress Jenette Goldstein. She played the mother talking to her kids on the bed in "The Titanic" and she played in some Terminator movies.
I saw this in the theater when I was 12. One of my favorite films ever. Thanks for the reaction! No spoilers, just an opinion. Alien 3 is watchable, but not great compared to the first two. Alien Resurrection I loved! Take it for what it's worth. :)
Hi Kabir...another fun movie reaction...your screams when there are jump scares are some of the best on YT. One thing...sort of a technical issue...I wanted to suggest that you watch these movies on a bigger screen. It seems pretty clear that you are watching either on your laptop screen or on a small monitor, at least that is what your head position strongly indicates, and it often seems like you cannot see a lot of the fine details. Is there a bigger screen you can watch on? A TV with an open HDMI input that you can output to from your computer, perhaps? I understand you may not have a bigger screen, but if you can figure out any way to watch on a larger screen, you will appreciate these movies even more. Anyway...this was a fun...and keep them coming...thank you. ✌✌

Jealous! I worked as an usher back when some Hillary Duff movie came out. Lmao
The 80's definitely had a roster of some of the best films out there.
Man, the sequels back in the day were serious. And I remember being a little kid in the theater and the audience lost it during that scene
Paul Reiser... the guy that plays Burke. Did such a good job at making people hate him. He tells this story that even his own mother upon watching the movie cheered when he gets killed.
Yep I heard the same thing!
Odd seeing him as a bad guy, as he is normally a Comedian...
Don't tell someone like Burke you're going to nail him to the wall then take a nap.

One of my favorites! Great reaction😊
Its crazy how they managed to also collab with predator and actually make a great movie.
The AVP collab was a comic before it was a film series. Worth checking out
Ya I enjoyed how the girl ended up fighting the alian along side of the predator.
Greatest sci-fi action film EVER! And stop there, don't watch any more in the series, the Alien saga ends here.
Wise words. Stop here.
I have always thought Aliens 2 was much better than the first.
Alien is a horror movie
Aliens is an action movie
And they both rock!
"Maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events but WE JUST GOT OUR ASSES KICKED PAL?"
Lol best line.
I remember the audience just cussing up a storm when the queen was revealed!!!!
My Dude, there is not one bit of CGI in this movie.
Lol
Newt's sleeping under the bed. Ripley climbs in.
Kabir: "imagine if Ripley went AAARGGHH to Newt.
Wow. Dark man, really dark. That's nasty.
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Quite a few major plot holes in this movie but because it's so well paced you never really notice them.
If only they would listen to Ripley...
That picture of Ripley's daughter, aged 67. That was a picture of Sigourney's Mother before she died. Those are real tears from Ripley.
You should watch the full documentary on Aliens, good stuff. And what plotholes ???
Ii didn't get into these movies but watching you react so strongly to it was super entertaining.
34:35 this movie is well before any kind of CGI. Jurassic Park came in eight years later! All of this are practical effects.
If we go further back in time, Joan of Arc as depicted in "The Passion of Joan of Arc", 1928, could be an interesting conceptual antecedent.
I know the third one is it always considered a good movie, but I do like it.
Love when you do movies!!! 😊
Your reaction is priceless. Giger is the designer of the Allen. Check out his art work. Very dark.
She played John Connor's foster mother in T2: Judgment Day.
My favorite of them.
The original Halo game used sound bytes from this movie to voice several generic marines.
34:43 _Aliens_ has no cgi. If you want another James Cameron's masterpiece then react to _Titanic_ (1997).
Time for part 3!
I think H.R. Giger drew the original drawings of the alien creature.
