Kind of maddening how Dr. T can only have 472,000 subscribers while other, much lower effort channels easily surpass a million for other superficial reasons...
I can think of two reasons off the top of my head why "lower effort" ASMR channels out-subscribe him---one superficial, the other...not... 1. Maria Viktorovna, known for Gentle Whispering (and who I like) is...eye candy. That motive might explain *some* channels who don't have anywhere near the talent that Dr. T does, and still get more subs. 2. Dr. T has a cast of characters, each with a backstory. You have to let Dr. T, Vincent Squingilli, and even Dr. Namyzarc draw you in. I think some folks new to this channel haven't been around since early on, and I think people too new to the channel don't know what the characters they're seeing are all about---and it might be mildly puzzling. Once you KNOW the cast of characters, *NOBODY* does ASMR better than Dr. T!

Also I have a theory that too many people fall asleep too quickly and the autoplay goes on and they forget to look up the Dr. T video that caused them to fall asleep in the first place to subscribe? I sometimes forget to like the videos. And occasionally will have to go through and like his stuff on a later date.
