Storm Ciara and the River Tees between the Waterfalls of Low Force and High Force. Teesdale, UK

I shot this handheld footage during Storm Ciara on 9th February 2020 as part of my weather news work. At the time the focus was mainly on still images for print media so the footage is a bit rough. Also the the rain killed the external mike so there is lots of wind noise too. I have included some shots of the river during normal flow to give you some idea of just how much water was flowing.
The River Tees incidentally is in Teesdale, County Durham, Northeast England and this area is part of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Beautiful and awesome - I've seen High Force in spate, when the spay soaks you through, but never to this extent!

Floodwater coming over the middle seems to be becoming a much more regular event, I have seen it a few times now. It is great standing up there in the spray though isn't it.

I was lucky enough to see High Force at a similar level. Is there any footage of Caldron Snout during this storm?

It's a great sight to see first hand isn't it. I haven't seen any footage of Cauldron Snout from this time. That said it probably would not be in major spate on that date as the dam above tends to delay the flow at this point. Instead Maize beck below the snout is the main tributary for floodwater from the hills above.

High force looks best in this state but low force looked really pathetic in this state.

I have to disagree, the Tees looked fantastic from High to Low force.
