  • I'm a huge fan of camera straps. Sure they serve a function, but I also use them to customize the look of my camera and match my clothes. To me, camera straps are like socks: functional yet fashionable, a form of personal expression. Wotancraft has finally released its line-up of finely crafted leather camera straps. I don't believe I can truly "review" a strap, but in this video, I'll unbox and share my thoughts on these new leather neck and wrist straps from Wotancraft. That opening shot reminded me of that video in which a GoPro falls into a pit of rattlesnakes 😃

I’m love wotancraft bags I have several, these just don’t seem very practical over peak designs offerings I’m afraid.
Expensive and not malleable enough for me, also I like the magnetic system on the peak design cuff so you can have it nice around your wrist like a watch strap.

I just received my strap. Black 100cm with Cura rings. Very well made - thick. I kind of wish it was 105cm but aside from that the strap is superb.

So funny to see that we are now marvelling at (and yes, sustainable) leather products. We are well into the post-plastic era.

Excellent review, really enjoy your segments. And I love Wotancraft gear and have a lot of it, probably too much.

I am rocking the Leica M11 with peak design anchor links and a clever supply strap. It is fairly easy to get on the anchors from Peak and with these on it is easy to either change or remove any strap that are compatible. With that said, just ordered a Wotancraft strap with anchor links :D Thanks for the video!

Many thanks for this review. I also love the Wotancraft bags - I have a 7L Pilot. I am going to order a strap but I am not sure from their website, or from your video here, what is the difference between their "vegetable tanned" and "ful leather" straps. I think the straps you refer to as being "pebbly" are the ful leather version. I am correct? Are there other differences?

I too love straps. I'm a big fan of the Peak Design anchors....I wish that I could use the anchor directly on my XT4 without a split ring. BTW, I'm an active sailor.....I get all my split rings from the sailing supply store. Lots of options and really good stainless steel.

Agreed, it took me a while to get used to the Peak Design anchor system, but I like how quickly you can change out the straps with this system. The big thing is the split rings. The original Peak Design anchors use to come with these small rectangular rings, but not anymore. Maybe I can find them at a sailing supply store? As for directly connecting the anchors to the Fujifilm eyelets, it's impossible. Fujifilm's holes are way too small. I mentioned it to the executive team members in NYC, but I don't know if they'll do anything about it. I hope they do. With the Leica you can, but I still prefer not to.

@@bigheadtacoalready scratched the silver paint off my new XT5 from using split rings. May order the new Wotancraft with the peak design anchors.

@@rumporridge1 oh man too bad. Were the rings made from stainless steel? If so ya they can definitely scratch the finish. Too bad. Hopefully it wasn't too bad 😞

@@bigheadtacopeak design used sell an anchor with a smaller gauge that did fit through the eyelet. Unfortunately they recalled those anchors indicating that they were faulty.

@@MyNorthAmetican40 oh that's too bad. Maybe they can make a smaller gauge rope for smaller and lighter cameras, like point and shoots and maybe cameras like the X100 series. And then have the thicker ones for bigger cameras.... thanks for the info.

Have you found any bleeding or staining from the leather dye to your clothing if they get wet or damp from rain or sweat ?
