I have no doubts that this is so near perfection one can get. And I also know that some of you have a different opinion. Isn´t it a blessing that we think differnt and can argue about it?
19:46 This is my favourite moment, so lovely, and then comes this theme at 20:51 that is so overwhelming, combined with some more poetic tones (lyrics, flowers, colours?) and then this three tones again, downgoing, stronger and stronger. This is a miracle, I think you agree.
Overall, this is the most breathtaking, genious, inspired piece of art I know! Only two instruments. And yes, I know Ive written too much about it already, and perhaps you are tired reading my words. But I cannot help feeling this way. Noa and Elisabeth are the perfect pair of musicians to make this César Franck Violin Concerto come through, they lift him, Mr Frank, to the heaven where he belongs, and there is not one moment in this Violin Sonata that is dull. Think how much you can reach with only two instruments, violin and piano. If its played by the right persons.
I have listened, over and over again, and I admit, this is what I completely have fallen for. I don´t need to tell you how good it is, I don´t need to use any words at all to convince you, and I don´t think that words can talk the same language as music. And I don´t think that my words has anything to do with your experience. All I want is that you listen carefully.

And I’m pretty sure you’ll like it because I believe Noa may have been inspired by Mikyung’s performance, which was featured online by The Strad about six months earlier. (It’s a good one to be inspired by, easily my favorite.)

I never expected to hear such a thing, but I think we might have discovered a performance of this that is inspired by another performance, only on a different instrument. Even more unlikely, the other instrument is the double bass! (She even appears to be aiming for the dark and intense tone of the double bass, quite successfully.) The performance I am talking about is Mikyung Sung’s (with Jaemin Shin), which was featured online by The Strad about six months before this. I keep imagining Noa singing Mikyung’s performance in her head, like a guide. I can’t say for sure this is true, but the impression is quite powerful. (For the violin, not so much the piano.) And what a great performance to copy, as Mikyung’s has been my favorite interpretation on any instrument. This performance is fantastic too, and they are now two of my favorites, along with Zuckerman/Neikrus and du Pre/Barenboim.
Cette Sonate ; c'est beaucoup les Quatre Saisons, vue d'une chaumière rustique en Normandie, vue d'un cocon peut-être avec un bon feu de bois. Le premier mouvement mouvement est une berceuse d'été, chaleureuse , douce et nonchalante, peut-être pendant une sieste (référence au deuxième mouvement du deuxième Quatuor avec piano de Faure, mais avec pas cette ambiance triste). Le deuxième mouvement, évoque l'automne avec ses rafales de vent et surtout les couleurs chaudes de l'été indien, son atmosphère à la fois nostalgique faisant le lien organique avec l'été précédant et emporté de l'automne. Le troisième mouvement nous plonge dans le repos de l'hiver ou la nature est endormie, avec des couchers de soleil resplendissant, contrastant les teintes blanches de la saison, rappelant la mélodie de Duparc, son élève, sur un poème de Beaudelaire : "L'invitation au voyage". Ces fulgurances du duo, feront resurgences comme chez Debussy, dans le Quatrième mouvement, comme dans chaque saison et dans la nature. Ce dernier mouvement , c'est le Printemps avec son chant de la nature qui ressuscite la vie les multiples voies ou voix du canon, ses retours de l'hiver jusqu'aux Saints de glaces, ces carillons "Alleluiatiques" chrétiens, annonçant ceux de Georges Migot (toujours la musique française pendant mille ans). Ces saisons, sa traduction cyclique gauloise que l'on retrouve chez l'élève Vincent d'Indy et son élève Albert Roussel dans sa Première Symphonie, avec le cycle des saisons, "Le Poème de la Forêt ". Of my three favourites are Noa and Elisabeth the ones that has the same tempo as David Oistrach, absolutely not a favour for them, just a way to a make a difference between this three versions. I like very much Clara-Jumis two versions too. In fact, when I listen to these maybe a little faster versions I think they are the best, but when I listen to Noa and Elisabeth I think they are the best! And after all, we cannot judge music. But I like a little variation in the tempo with emotional "spots" so therefore Noa and Elisabeth are the winners in my eyes. Or ears. You may have another opinion, and perhaps Im wrong. I hope that we all go on with our music and listen carefully to all sorts of music. Maybe that will change our lives? At least a little bit?

As a huge fan of Mikyung’s, this is really inspiring to see, and the results are as fantastic on violin as they were on double bass.

@@staffanolofsson8201 I will not be buying another pair of headphones for a very, very long time. Driven by a Violectric V100 it is THE perfect headphone for me. Is it worth the price? Yes and no. For me it's worth it, but you can probably get 90%-95% of that perfection for a lot less. I bought mine used here in Germany on "ebay Kleinanzeigen" and paid way less for them than what they would have cost me new. If you have any chance to try them and ideally some others (Beyerdynamic T1, Sennheiser HD800, Audio Technica ATH AD2000X oder AD5000X...), then you should definitely do that. The Sennheiser for example didn't fit me all that well

Why is that the piano solo played at a different tempo than when violin and piano together. This is a duo, not a violin solo piece, so the musical concept must be discussed and agreed.

But I cannot find out that the pianist "slows down" when she is on her own, and she very seldom is on her own. I think that we perhaps are used to listen to another interpretation that has been a "standard" for us. However, good music listening to you! I myself think that this is the best I have heard so far.

Interesting playing, but I still cannot stop mentioning the inconsistency between the choice of speed in violin and piano. Very very obvious in the last movement which is in canon form. Section B, the violin suddenly played much faster, where as in section C the piano was played in the same tempo as the beginning. Also in many places where there is a crochet minim crochet, it was played as crochet +,minim- crochet. This totally alternated the time signature of the music. My music teacher said many times: if the composer liked it to be played this way, he certainly knew how to make the notation. I feel sorry about this, but I just could not not say something about it. Obviously the violinist and the pianist have not really talked about the music in depth, which I think requires more working as it is one of the greatest piece of music in the violin repertoire
I have listened to the last movement, again, but sorry, i just find two musicians in harmony about the tempo. It goes up and down and I think that they both follow each other. Maybe I dont quite have your musical ear, I have no education in music, but I think it´s a little bit fun to argue about music. I wish you Gabriel good listening in the future and says goodbye to you.

Also in many places where there is a crochet minim crochet, it was played as crochet +,minim- crochet. This totally alternated the time signature of the music. My music teacher said many times: if the composer liked it to be played this way, he certainly knew how to make the notation. I feel sorry about this, but I just could not not say something about it. Obviously the violinist and the pianist have not really talked about the music in depth, which I think requires more working as it is one of the greatest piece of music in the violin repertoire
I have listened to the last movement, again, but sorry, i just find two musicians in harmony about the tempo. It goes up and down and I think that they both follow each other. Maybe I dont quite have your musical ear, I have no education in music, but I think it´s a little bit fun to argue about music. I am not sure, but one possibility is I think the violinist was inspired by Mikyung Sung, but the pianist not so much.
