Excellent, this is an answer to my prayer; Abba Father impressed upon me this woman, a couple of times during prayer, so I couldn’t recall her name (knew her from a Bible study group), called another woman whose name I did know from the Bible study group as I had several interactions with her, she got in touch with this woman (whose name I now know [I am terrible remembering names btw], got permission from her to give her phone number to me, I called her. But my prayer was asking what can I possibly do for this woman which was answered by your video, “what can I do for Christ”. (I am a Catechumen)

That's one way to say it: to help another person is to help Christ. The love we show other people is love we show for Christ. But we don't do it merely for what we can get out of it, or the way we can help ourselves. We do it out of love.

Dear Tim - I see it was explained to you. Please let me add the following. There are several kinds of love. A lower form of love is doing good because we fear God. Another lower form of love is doing good to others because we want to get rewarded. But the highest form is loving others because God is love and we love God. Remember, the Bible says, "Perfect love casts out fear." So the more we love others, the more we can love God and we will fear less. Saint Seraphim of Sarov said our goal is "Acquistion of the Holy Spirit." What does this mean you might ask? Here is what it means. There are actions we can do in life here that attract God's Grace as these actions please God. When you receive more Grace from God, you are filled with the Holy Spirit even more and you have great joy in your heart. But what are these actions? There are many my friend in Christ. e.g. 1. Doing acts of kindness towards others attracts much Grace from God. 2. Prayer - remember those who passed on cannot help their souls anymore. But we can help their souls by praying for them, doing good deeds in their name. It is possible for some souls to be taken from Hell and be moved to Heaven. It is also possible for some souls in Hell to be moved to a place of less suffering. There are different degrees of suffering in Hell and different degrees of reward in Heaven. So pray for the souls and give names to the priest to read at the Proskimide and Memorial Services. For great learning, read Saint Seraphim's book on "Acquistion of the Holy Spirit." So don't fear - LOVE. God is Love, so we must Love.

My favorite part: that we don't "save" the lowly by administering to their needs, but we are saved by the Jesus in them. Love that paradigm shift :)
