In this video I travel Atlanta, Georgai to have some fun! I am riding a 2023 Ducati Panigale V4R. This bike is a little different than my 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 SP2. Its got a completely different engine so I decide to put it to the test.

In June 2023 I bought the SP2....debated for about 2 weeks between that and the V4R. There were only 2 available SP2s in Socal at the time. Salesmen from 2 different dealerships were giving me the lowdown on the SP2 versus the R and despite potentially making a higher commission selling me the R, they spoke more highly of the SP2. I also asked my friends and family what bike they liked better and 90% of them liked the matte black color of the SP2 better. In the end, it was about the modifications. The SP2 already came equipped with carbon wheels, Rizoma rearsets, and was a better streetbike. I would have had to spend more money on mods for the R. I don't like the Akra wheel barrel exhausts so I went with the black titanium Termi under-belly slip ons and saved about $10K including install. Anyway, I don't ride on the track so the SP2 was also the better option. FastLane D gave some good comparisons in this video. Most notable on the R was the heavy steering, more raw feeling, heavier feeling, and not as smooth. The lack of torque and mid-range was what got me. Despite all that, I still wouldn't mind owning a R model one day. But I'm very satisfied with the SP2 and glad I went with it. FastLaneD is a real one and I appreciate his contributions to the motorcycle community.

I was told by a ducati store mechanic in the Netherlands that all maintanance regarding V4, V4S and V4R is the same, unless u track the hell out of a V4R.

Don't forget the bike is strapped, so steering, rider feel / suspension isn't going to be comparable even to a yamaha R3 lol. Hope you get to ride a standard one and give another review.

Yeah they're for dragging. To lower the front and compress the spring so it takes more effort to get the front wheel off of the ground.
When you're dragging you don't want to be wheelieing

I've never seen a ducati v4 use a 4 into 1 exhaust. I'm sure whoever did that knows better than every ducati race team.

The R feels phenomenal on the road as well, you do a regular maintenance like the sp if you don’t track the bike. Yes I would prefer maybe the mat black color compared with the red, but besides that , the R is a way better bike than the sp, the sp still a regular panigale with accessories

Carbon wheels have less rotational mass, so less gyroscopic force to fight when turning. Also, there is a rigidity and dampening to them that can make them more precise and smoother than alloy wheels. Carbon is layered so it's structure can be more rigid in one plane and softer in another. For example, it can feel smooth on rough roads and feel confident cornering while also being light when it comes to input.
Someone please explain this to me. Buys a $45K flagship, homologation special Ducati V4 R and installs an Arata exhaust with what looks like a make shift bracket.

People need to do their research before buying a bike like this. It is a RACE bike, sure it is fast but this bike is meant for the engine to be torn down and rebuilt around every 3k miles. The expense is well over $10k to do so. If you are a pro racer or you can afford it then by all means have at it. To own the V4R on the street is just plain dumb. The V4s is way too much for most people to handle, this one is way beyond. The BMW M1000RR is a better choice but even still the V4S or the S1000RR are still way too much for 99% and will not require the maintenance. I 100% believe that for the street the 1290 Super Duke is the most appropriate and the most fun. The track is a diff story. All that to say your assessment is spot on!
