Thanks man--- you haven't posted a video in sometime. Your Uinta video made me grin. I have had many trips just like that where it just rains and rains

TroutHowler I know, I need to get back into it! I’ve been really busy and haven’t had the time! But that is no excuse.

Nice looks like a great day on the water! I was hoping you would get one on the mouse. I started throwing mouse flies myself last year. Hoping for some big brown trout on the mouse this year!

I was hoping as well. People actually catch some large Cutts on mouse patterns that time of year---no such luck this time out. It is a lot of fun watching a mouse pattern get hammered on the surface.

trout howler your one of my new favorite channels man keep up the good work. do you guide for hunting? I'd love to come out and hunt and then get some tigers.

Yep, for many years. Just predator hunts-----coyotes most of the time. Hence the Howler part of my name. Originally I was planning on doing hunting videos on this channel as well but I came to the conclusion that the backlash isn't worth it. The woke folk have sadly ruined the internet.

There's actually a lot bigger fish than anything we caught in that reservoir. The state record Cutt was caught there long ago (27 lbs). Strawberry is actually the popular fishery in the state of Utah. Fishing it at ice off is my personal favorite time to fish it. The boat I use is the Fish Cat Panther. They have literally doubled in price since we bought ours over a decade ago. We paid around $500 for them and now they are $999. As far as I can tell, they haven't changed a thing on them. They are good boats for sure though---they're pretty rugged. We use them to float down the Green river in north eastern Utah and they do great.

@@TroutHowler always a bigger fish thats what keeps us going. 27lb is an absolute beast of a fish. I have a co-worker that goes to strawberry every year with his brother..they have caught several 8-10lb fish. I've wanted to fish it for the last few years now. After my little one gets bigger I'm going to go a little further from home! $1000 for that pontoon is a little steep geez...maybe I will look for a used one. I have a river/secret lake that never gets fished and that pontoon would be the perfect craft to get me there. Thanks!! 💪👊

@@hookjawhunters9419 Yeah they're pricey. I have seen used ones as low as $500 but even that's still a good chunk of change. I saw an awesome little kick boat on another video called the Water Master Kodiak. They are light enough that you can just carry it by your self. I convinced myself that I needed one unitl looked up the price. They are $1700 to $2000. I was instantly like--I guess not

@@hookjawhunters9419 Take a look at Colorado XT for $560 new. I take it down rivers also. Class 1 or meandering only. Never had a problem. FC Panther is a better boat in the long run tho. Lower profile.

Nuttin better than backtrolling stillwater in a toon with fins. Wait...maybe fly fishin and running a river in a toon is better. Paddle only kayaks are a PITA on stillwater. I have a $400 Pelican angler. They are definitely not "hands free" fishing particularly in the wind. (You can get from one spot to another better tho)..That is why everyone is moving to pedal and stay in place trolling motors for kayaks. While everyone pays for trendy pedal and trolling motor yaks at 3k to 5k, I put a $600 (only 30lb) Suzuki 2.5, 4 stroke on my $560 Colorado XT (with a little bracing of mount) and I can go anywhere on lakes and backbays and still have hands free fishing and trolling using fins. Obviously, I don't need it on rivers. And the debate goes on LOL.....

I've seen many people with motors on their pontoon boats. It's lame that they make you register a pontoon boat by even putting a battery powered trolling motor on them. I've been jealous more than once watching somebody zoom by with a motor while I'm paddling away 😊
