Floor can sing any genre and style - period 😁. That said, her covers of "Shallow" and "Mama" from the same show are worth listen to 🙂. Floor with Nightwish, where to start, "Ghost Love Score" (Wacken 2013) is perhaps their most played track and good starting point to get into their music and Floor's singing, also in heavier notes 🙂

Henk Poort is my childhood. He was first of all the Dutch Phantom and he is also the Dutch dubbing voice of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. (The woman that played Christine in TPotO was the Dutch Belle also). Time flies!

Henk Poort is an established and highly regarded Dutch Opera and Musical singer/actor who played the original Phantom in the Dutch version from 1993-1996. Andrew Lloyd Webber allegedly considered him one of the very best performers in this role. Floor saw Henk play this role when she was about 12 y/o and has been a fan ever since and requested him to reprise his starring role with her for this program. The vocal distortion he used is not a technique he is used to but he tried it anyway after floor asked him to dragging him somewhat into the metal-sound in this performance.

This particular episode was all about Henk, all the singers sing songs that are dear to the one person this one was Henk's, he chooses one to do the duet at the end with and as he is well known for being the original Phantom he choose Floor and this song in Nightwish's style to sing at the end, or at least that is the way I understand how this show works, not a competition but still kind of a competition in a way

The concept of the show is to have 7 professional singers of very different style, singing songs for each other (one show per person). They try-out each others style, rework the song of the person on the couch in the middel to their own taste, or sing something which relates to their past. Just to have fun: not a competition. The 8th episode are duets. Search for "Beste Zangers 2019" to see more of Floor and Henk (and the other singers are very interesting as well)
definitely a worth of look for those other performance in that show! Less competition, more of having good time while singing songs that Are important to Main Person of each part.
All right you’ve opened a can of worms here. Nightwish Army on the way. It is a singing show but not a competition. There are seven singers and the take turns at being sung to by the other six. The whole 8 episodes are worth watching. Each singer from a different genre. Denise Hofs has done English subtitles - search her name. But you absolutely have to check out Nightwish - Ghost Love Score. Just follow your nose from there.

Floor is one the most versatile female singer and she is a vocalist from Nightwish. Henk Poort as you know is an opera singer, he is a baritone. This Phantom of The Opera was Nightwish version, and yes they were amazing in this duet. Thanks for your reaction 👍

The people on the couch are singers too. The concept is simple. Each episode one of them is in the spotlight, and the other singers sing songs from his or her reportoire and make their own twist to it. The last episode is the duet episode. Each singer then chooses a duet partner and sings a duet. This duet was Floor’s choice because she admires Henk and wanted to sing the phantom with him. Henk played the Phantom 20 years ago, it is his most well-known role. There is no competition, it’s all about sharing the love for music and enjoying each others company. If you like dramatic music then Floor’s band, Nightwish, might be something for you. Check out Ghost LoveScore from their show on Wacken Open Air 2013. You’ll be amazed! I've seen people ending their sentences with ".......". Why not a full stop and then a new sentence or a comma? I mean, I myself use it sometimes if I wright a part of a quote or when I want an effect like I'm pausing in a sentence but why in every sentece?? I'm not complaining I'm seriously curious to why.
"Beste Zangers" ("best singers") is not really a competition. It's a group of professional singers, well known in the netherlands, from different disciplines in music, coming together and singing for/to each other. Each episode a different singer is the subject, and then the other singers have to sing either songs from this singer, or songs which mean something to this singer. The goal is to get them outside of their comfort zone. This has produced some real jewels of music, like this rendition of the phantom. Floor isn't singing this with her operatic voice tho, she can do way more opera than this. She uses a very nice mix here.

This was the duet all the Floor fans in the world were hoping to see. Floor's band Nightwish had done a rock/metal version of "The Phantom of the Opera" many years before (albeit, with a different lead singer). Everyone wanted to hear Floor do it, especially with professional opera singer Henk Poort, who was the original Dutch Phantom (as well as the original Jean Valjean).
You really, and I mean, REALLY!, need to check out Floor Jansen in her band Nightwish. Ghost Love Score live at Wacken, 2013, only months after she last-minute joined the band. You really need to see it. :D

Wow you just hears from Floor Jansen the 6' 1" Dutch dynamo and lead singer of the best symphonic metal band in the world Nightwish, she is known to her fans as the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal but on this show (not a competition just singers who honor one member each week by singing one of their songs or one important to them) these pros are all from different genres and Floor's first 4 performances were in 4 different genres and r4 different languages!!!! You have to watch her performances as each was an emotional tour de force that was epic. When this show started she wasn't well known and was the "metal chick with the tattoos" however, after 8 weeks the most versatile female vocalist had conquered her homeland as well as the internet. We her loyal fans love this woman who is the sweetest, most talented non-diva who loves her fans old and new. She did several thank you videos to thank her fans during this shows run. Henk is a Opera singer (duh!!!) and one of Floor's idols so this was a really great presentation by both of them. Each year the TV show, Beste Zangers (Best Singers) picks 6 or 7 Dutch singers that they consider to be the best performers in their respective genres. Ironically, Floor has performed with her symphonic metal band, Nightwish, throughout Europe, Latin America and the US, but she is not well known in Holland since metal music isn't popular there. Originally Floor was indecisive about participating on the 3 week long show until she found out that Henk Poort, one of her opera idols, was also participating. She was chosen to sing the first song of the show and decided to sing "Vilja Lied" as a tribute to Henk. Most of the performers didn't expect much from Floor since they thought all metal singers were primarily screamers or growlers, not understanding that symphonic metal bands often use female lead singers with classical training. The look on the other singers' faces when Floor broke out her operatic voice in " Vilja Lied" was priceless, even better than the Phantom. "Vilja Lied" Beste Zangers 2019
Beste Zangers (Best Singers) is a multi-episode TV program from the Netherlands. In each episode in any given series, a number of well-known national performers are picked (varying between 6 and 8 each season) and in each episode, one singer is centrally focused as the remaining artists sing songs by that specific artist. Even though the original artist judges the "adaptions" and "covers" of his/her songs done by the other participants, the show is not really a competition. The final episode is usually comprised of duets and a revisit to favorite performances during the season.
I admire your openness to new music styles. As you noticed, this is a rock / metal version of the "Phantom". Also, I truly respect the fact you made a correct (and needed) documentation about the two singers. Should be interesting to check each of them singing in their "main" genre. As you understood already, in this show they were "out of their comfort zone", performing songs from other musical genres. We (the knights of Nightwish Army) are waiting..
This was the end duet of the 12th season. This was Beste zangers 2019. There are 7 singers from different genres and each week one of them is the "guest" and the others take a song that was performed or meant a lot for him/her. from the guest. they make that song their own by make it suitable for the guest. The others sit on the couch and enjoy each performance. And this is no competition but a group of singers who enjoy doing this. Henk Poort did the song Sound of silence for Floor but in a different way than Simon and Garfunkel. Also the song Strong that is performed by Emma Heesters is written by Floor and it is about her mother who is chronically ill, and for Emma who's mother who overcome the struggle with breast-cancer is this a meaningful song.

Have you done any NightWish.? She fronts a symphonic metal band called NightWish.. Being symphonic metal allows them to take their music in several different directions.. Their more trashy heavy metal sound in songs like "Romanticide" Song of Myself" or Ghost River".. Then they do epic very atristic multipart plays set to metal music.. Songs like "Ghost Love Score" "The Poet and the Pendulum" or the Greatest Show on Earth".. also they have a more celtic sound in songs like "E'lan"..
The band is playing Nightwish’s version of Phantom which is the band Floor Jansen sings in. Amazing singer but also their old singer Tarja Turnen also did a version of it. It’s worth checking out!

The best singers of the netherlands perform songs from one of the others. And at the end they perform songs with one of the others. Henk was the star in Phantom of the opera. Floor has never done anything like this and she rocked it!

It was a show, called Best Singers (of Holland). Floor Jansen is singer in the band Nightwish (check them out, freaking amazing), and Henk Poort was the Dutch Phantom (years ago) and is now opera singer (bariton). You opened the box of Pendora, the Nightwish army is from now on hunting and asking for reactions to Nightwish.

The concept of the show is to have 7 professional singers of very different style, singing songs for each other (one show per person). They try-out each others style, rework the song of the person on the couch in the middel to their own taste, or sing something which relates to their past. Just to have fun: not a competition. The 8th episode are duets. Search for "Beste Zangers 2019" to see more of Floor and Henk (and the other singers are very interesting as well)
definitely a worth of look for those other performance in that show! Less competition, more of having good time while singing songs that Are important to Main Person of each part.
All right you’ve opened a can of worms here. Nightwish Army on the way. It is a singing show but not a competition. There are seven singers and the take turns at being sung to by the other six. The whole 8 episodes are worth watching. Each singer from a different genre. Denise Hofs has done English subtitles - search her name. But you absolutely have to check out Nightwish - Ghost Love Score. Just follow your nose from there.

Floor is one the most versatile female singer and she is a vocalist from Nightwish. Henk Poort as you know is an opera singer, he is a baritone. This Phantom of The Opera was Nightwish version, and yes they were amazing in this duet. Thanks for your reaction 👍

The people on the couch are singers too. The concept is simple. Each episode one of them is in the spotlight, and the other singers sing songs from his or her reportoire and make their own twist to it. The last episode is the duet episode. Each singer then chooses a duet partner and sings a duet. This duet was Floor’s choice because she admires Henk and wanted to sing the phantom with him. Henk played the Phantom 20 years ago, it is his most well-known role. There is no competition, it’s all about sharing the love for music and enjoying each others company. If you like dramatic music then Floor’s band, Nightwish, might be something for you. Check out Ghost LoveScore from their show on Wacken Open Air 2013. You’ll be amazed!

Henk Poort the sound of silence, a must hear.
"Beste Zangers" ("best singers") is not really a competition. It's a group of professional singers, well known in the netherlands, from different disciplines in music, coming together and singing for/to each other. Each episode a different singer is the subject, and then the other singers have to sing either songs from this singer, or songs which mean something to this singer. The goal is to get them outside of their comfort zone. This has produced some real jewels of music, like this rendition of the phantom.
Floor isn't singing this with her operatic voice tho, she can do way more opera than this. She uses a very nice mix here.

This was the duet all the Floor fans in the world were hoping to see. Floor's band Nightwish had done a rock/metal version of "The Phantom of the Opera" many years before (albeit, with a different lead singer). Everyone wanted to hear Floor do it, especially with professional opera singer Henk Poort, who was the original Dutch Phantom (as well as the original Jean Valjean).
You really, and I mean, REALLY!, need to check out Floor Jansen in her band Nightwish. Ghost Love Score live at Wacken, 2013, only months after she last-minute joined the band. You really need to see it. :D

These guys all are singers. They sing songs from an other singer at this show, or the one artist sings a song that is meaningful for an other artist on the couch. Each episode is dediced to one of the vocalists. This last episode was a duet episode. It is not a competition at all. It is just a fun program, nothing more and nothing less.

This just came up couple of weeks ago: Nightwish - Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean (live at Buenos Aires). You like dramatic stuff, you got it! :)
Wow you just hears from Floor Jansen the 6' 1" Dutch dynamo and lead singer of the best symphonic metal band in the world Nightwish, she is known to her fans as the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal but on this show (not a competition just singers who honor one member each week by singing one of their songs or one important to them) these pros are all from different genres and Floor's first 4 performances were in 4 different genres and r4 different languages!!!! You have to watch her performances as each was an emotional tour de force that was epic. When this show started she wasn't well known and was the "metal chick with the tattoos" however, after 8 weeks the most versatile female vocalist had conquered her homeland as well as the internet. We her loyal fans love this woman who is the sweetest, most talented non-diva who loves her fans old and new. She did several thank you videos to thank her fans during this shows run. Henk is a Opera singer (duh!!!) and one of Floor's idols so this was a really great presentation by both of them.

Each year the TV show, Beste Zangers (Best Singers) picks 6 or 7 Dutch singers that they consider to be the best performers in their respective genres. Ironically, Floor has performed with her symphonic metal band, Nightwish, throughout Europe, Latin America and the US, but she is not well known in Holland since metal music isn't popular there. Originally Floor was indecisive about participating on the 3 week long show until she found out that Henk Poort, one of her opera idols, was also participating. She was chosen to sing the first song of the show and decided to sing "Vilja Lied" as a tribute to Henk. Most of the performers didn't expect much from Floor since they thought all metal singers were primarily screamers or growlers, not understanding that symphonic metal bands often use female lead singers with classical training. The look on the other singers' faces when Floor broke out her operatic voice in " Vilja Lied" was priceless, even better than the Phantom. "Vilja Lied" Beste Zangers 2019
Beste Zangers (Best Singers) is a multi-episode TV program from the Netherlands. In each episode in any given series, a number of well-known national performers are picked (varying between 6 and 8 each season) and in each episode, one singer is centrally focused as the remaining artists sing songs by that specific artist. Even though the original artist judges the "adaptions" and "covers" of his/her songs done by the other participants, the show is not really a competition. The final episode is usually comprised of duets and a revisit to favorite performances during the season.
I admire your openness to new music styles. As you noticed, this is a rock / metal version of the "Phantom". Also, I truly respect the fact you made a correct (and needed) documentation about the two singers. Should be interesting to check each of them singing in their "main" genre. As you understood already, in this show they were "out of their comfort zone", performing songs from other musical genres. We (the knights of Nightwish Army) are waiting..
This was the end duet of the 12th season. This was Beste zangers 2019. There are 7 singers from different genres and each week one of them is the "guest" and the others take a song that was performed or meant a lot for him/her. from the guest. they make that song their own by make it suitable for the guest. The others sit on the couch and enjoy each performance. And this is no competition but a group of singers who enjoy doing this. Henk Poort did the song Sound of silence for Floor but in a different way than Simon and Garfunkel. Also the song Strong that is performed by Emma Heesters is written by Floor and it is about her mother who is chronically ill, and for Emma who's mother who overcome the struggle with breast-cancer is this a meaningful song.

Have you done any NightWish.? She fronts a symphonic metal band called NightWish.. Being symphonic metal allows them to take their music in several different directions.. Their more trashy heavy metal sound in songs like "Romanticide" Song of Myself" or Ghost River".. Then they do epic very atristic multipart plays set to metal music.. Songs like "Ghost Love Score" "The Poet and the Pendulum" or the Greatest Show on Earth".. also they have a more celtic sound in songs like "E'lan"..
The band is playing Nightwish’s version of Phantom which is the band Floor Jansen sings in. Amazing singer but also their old singer Tarja Turnen also did a version of it. It’s worth checking out!
