Wow what a talented and powerful kid. I have never seen a gainer Rufolva before or since this. That is ballsy. Plus she did a standing full, a full twist hip circle for her mount and a full-in for a dismount! Wow. Incredible difficulty!
There are about 4 or 5 skills that would have been named for her had she made the 87 World Team. Incredible!! That gainer back handspring into gainer Rulfova combination is unreal! I want to do a series on Innovators and Pryakhina would be near the top of my list!!! 💗
A shame that Priakhina never made a World or Olympic team. I think she was forced to do tricks just too difficult for her and not humanly possible. Aleftina had the same coach (Mikhail Klimenko) as Elena Mukhina. Mukhina was doing insane tricks like the full twisting Korbut on uneven bars and the Thompson twist (which ultimately paralyzed her). Maybe Aleftina would have been more consistent had she not attempted as much.
That Klimenko certainly knew how to make superb gymnasts...This one at least didn't end up in a wheelchair or dead. I wonder how often it was a close call, I guess only she knows.
The gainerflick into the sort of gainer Rulfova was amazing. She was so dynamic and innovative, but she was not consistent at all, which is why she never really had the chance to shine.

Gainer Rulfova was amazing. This girl had some awesome tricks, such a shame she never made it to a worlds as none of them are named after her!

WOW, one of the most difficult and original routines I've ever seen.
She crashes her dismount and the audience barely applaud... they don't seem to acknowledge the incredible difficulty of this routine....
I agree with u, I feel like they focused on the dismount
What a shame about the fall on the dismount, so many very original elements in there!
Poor girl. Klimenko didn't learn anything after coaching Mukhina.
Too bad about the dismount, that was an awesome BB routine. She reminded me a bit of Groshkova here.
Those skills were amazing! Even if the leaps were pretty miserable, she really catches my attention!

That's wonderful. What happened to you?
A full-in dismount and that isn't even the most impressive thing about this routine, good lord this was cool
Shawn Johnson should take notes on how to land the standing full without smashing her face on her knees.
