In this video I'm going through different scenarios and compare these laptops:
- MacBook Air M2
- MacBook Air M1
- MacBook Pro M1.
The M2 Air could look great but I have another winner on my mind. Which one would you go with?

Great video and informative comparisons! I’m also going for MBP Pro 13” since the deals are pretty gods currently…plus it has the fan!
Great channel, good reviews, thanks.
Very nice tests, couldn't find anything like this on other channels. Keep it up!
Good review 👍
Awesome!
love the battery test as it is straightforward tested at maximum brightness instead of other tests that only says the screen are at xxx nits.
Ok, to be fair, u will need equal comparison among the computer to test at same brightness
but in real life usage, who knows how much brightness on the computer setting will that be at xxx nits?
Do you think the m1 pro 13 inch or m2 air is better for video editing, 4k footage, some transitions and b roll, with final cut pro? What about for multitasking? Thank you!
MBP 13” M1 for sure!
@@GeeksTable Thanks for the reply! Is it because of the fan and dual nand chip in the M1 pro? Do you notice a big difference when you edit or with multitasking? I'm still a bit torn because I like the screen better in the m2 and the fast charge is neat to save time as well.
During normal day usage I can’t say that MBP M1 is *dramatically* faster than MBA M2. You save 2-3 seconds every time you open an app or copy a file (because dual 256 nand on MBP). Also as I showed in the video if you do some heavy work for a long time (like background render in Final Cut for 1-2 hours), MBP will win here cuz it can easily cool down (and you won’t even hear it). Fast charger: consider it only if you are outside/in an unknown environment for most of the time of your day. These devices don’t drain the battery very fast, so it’s ok to use them without a charger, then come home, put on a charger before sleep and you’re good to start a new day.
@@GeeksTable Interesting! I thought the m2 chip would be faster for day to day work and opening apps.
If you go with a single nand chip (256Gb), then unfortunately it won’t. Since you do videos (cool channel by the way!) the very best would be 512/16 config (MBP or MBA). If it’s too expensive, then 256/16 (MBP M1), then 512/8 (MBA M2), then 256/8 (MBP M1). By the way, Max Tech did a nice comparison of the single/multi nand chips: ua-cam.com/video/H6Olqv5ChlQ/v-deo.html You may skip the benchmarks, but multitasking is something you might be interested in.
Apple won't improve external SSD support because they'd rather have people just buy larger internal drives
