This was actually a really cool watch Deejus, took me a while to get around to finding this video, but this was well made! I've been to Japan twice. Visited Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima, so very similar to your trip. Tokyo is by far the coolest destination if you just wan to experience cool things, but Kyoto was by far the most beautiful with it's shrines and temples. Hiroshima was okay, but not as great as the other two. I actually recognize some spots in this video. I've walked down the very same stars at 2:46, it was during Cherry Blossom season, so it was really gorgeous. I also went to Osaka, it was majestic. I think generally speaking, most people tend to visit the same tourist locations when they go to Japan. One thing I loved in Japan was the street-food. Go find those ramen wagons that people drag around and you'll be treated to some of the best thing you've ever eaten! The vending machines are also amazing. So much fun stuff to try out. On my trip, a bunch of us got addicted to this amazing lemon soda called "CC lemon". I agree with your point about respecting the Japanese culture. Even though they're generally too polite to tell you off, you will offend a lot of people if you go around being loud and obnoxious. Japanese people value their silence and their personal space. They already think we Westerners are loud and smelly, try not to validate that impression too much🤣
This is amazing to see! My family is all headed out to tour Japan this coming March. They are all very excited--watching your travels motivates me to go out and see this country someday!
I know I'm a bit late here, but thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. If you travel somewhere, showing respect towards the people and their culture is the most important thing for me, so I'm glad you put emphasis on that. Japan is definitely on my to-visit-list as well. Hope I can make that a reality someday.
Woah I'm so happy for you! Very cool vlog as well. I went to Japan 5 years ago and one thing i really enjoyed was watching very epic fireworks, they are very frequent and last for like 1h, did you manage to watch any of them?
I was also in Japan (Tokyo) during the first week of Oct. There are alot of hidden gems lying around in random streets. I was just walking around and noticed a long queue leading down into underground shop. I checked my google maps for the place and it turned out to be a place that sells Gyu-don (beef cutlers with batter). I returned 2 days later and it turned out to be the best meal I had for my trip. Hope u had fun too Deej!
Deejus going absolutely nuts for Baystars in the Swallows aisle was hilarious!😂 Btw the golden carrot in Asakusa is known as the "poop building" in Japanese (apparently it's supposed to be a blazing flame according to the french designer lol). And the idol group is Hinatazaka 46 I think. "Tenbō" just means lookout or observation deck.
As a French person who lived in Japan. I love to tell that story about our greatest contribution to this beautiful country. Also, together with the building on its left, they are Asahi beer's HQ or something like that. You cannot see it well at night, but the building to the left of "the turd" is made to look like a glass of beer. It is covered in golden colored glass, and the mushroom shaped top is more whiteish, representing the foam.
That Google review on Arashiyama's monkey park saying the monkeys should be in nature, not in a cage was absolutely ridiculous. The monkeys ARE in nature, there is only a "cage" there at the top so people can get in the cage to feed the monkeys safely through the grid. The monkey are always outside, in nature.
Alternative tittle: A Baboon Abroad
missed opportunity
So cool of you to visit us, your viewers, in the monkey park!

Yellow Comet looking fire 😋
Visiting the team at Intelligent Systems was dope
1h? What a privilege!!
All this mountain climbing makes me think Deejus might just be a Mech.
This is great! Can't wait to see your next travel adventure!!!
What an awesome trip! I had no idea baseball was so big in Japan
Baseball is Japan’s most popular sport. You would think it would be soccer like most other countries but nope, it’s baseball.

Love this.
Neat Deej. I'm visiting Asia as well soon.

Cool thanks for the insight of Japan. Yellow Comet in real Life.
Would've been such a hype moment if you came across Advance Wars/Famicom Wars merch in an Akihabara shop or some niche shops from Nakano Broadway.
Just in time for afternoon break. Going to be tea, inspired by the titillating title.
0:50 - New reaction image just dropped
Deejus, did any of the monkeys share words of wisdom about AWBW? Perhaps about recon on recon violence or base skipping?
my lips are sealed
