This is something that Thai people would absolutely enjoy - the mist. Haha! I understand that in Europe, mist is ubiquitous and might not be as appealing, but believe me, it's not a common occurrence here in Thailand, so Thai people really appreciate it.
and to see the pagoda in the mist we would "awe" for it.

Hope you have a good time. Try to remember temperature lapse rate also. Doi Intanon is about 8000ft compare to Chiang Mai at 1000ft. So the temp would drop around 14deg C or 25deg F. 😂
If I recall correctly it was 3 degrees C, but the wind and rain made it feel less
