You could try using a LiFePo4 battery instead which has a slightly lower voltage of 3.2 instead of 3.7 to prolong possibly the life of the light. Considering most decent keychain lights are around $10, if it burns out after a year you could just buy a new one.
No one mentions that the i3t's low mode goes from 5 lumens to over 50 lumens for over 2 hours with a 10440. That makes it a great work light for me with a bonus turbo charged high mode. Along with my i3t I carry a spare tiny 10440 in my pocket.
Good for a backup but Not my main Flashlight, I might slap in a 1440 in an emergency like Zombies, vampires, etc. but voiding the Warranty is too risky. good review.
@@southerndualsport3827 Did a search and the standard Energizer AAA is 1150 mAh, so it's 3 times the energy storage compared to my 3.7 volt 10440. The Energize AA is 2779 mAh. The i5, in the end may be the best bet. Or get the i5r with the USB-C charging battery that is 2.4 volt and 1420 mAh and can use standard AA batteries
@@HopsAndLead Yes, I am using this in my break down kit on my adventure bike, I'll usually have plenty of other sources, but this is my bare bones last resort I want to always work. I'll order the Energizer ultimate lithium, they run at a slightly higher voltage and have a big capacity and very long shelf life so thanks for the help!
@@southerndualsport3827 That'll definitely work. Pretty sure running a 10440 from full charge to dead will make short work of the i3t lol. Glad to help!
I haven't used my i3e longer than 2 minutes and it hasn't taken a dive yet. Recently switched from my old FDE Olight Elite i3e to the orange one. We'll see if the new ones are any different than the 2+ year old ones. I3t's, I don't really carry, I stick with the warrior mini or Brinyte PT28
@@HopsAndLead understandable. I might just run my 3e and 3t to the ground. I do carry a baton 2 i just wanted to test out the 3s because of how small they are
Good info. I carry the I3t and the I5t daily but mainly use the 5 because of how much brighter it is. Definitely going to try this.
I have some 14505 batteries coming in for the i5. It'll be brighter but I've heard the i3 has a better return in the end
It really is a great mod and makes the i3t so much better as an EDC light. The i3t with the lithium battery is brighter than the i5t with an alkaline

I counted how many i3e lights I have and I have 6. Still haven't killed one, run it till it dies 😂
‘Merika! Let’s check out these Chinese lights
And be sure to over power them to kill them quicker. lol
@@HopsAndLead hahaha. With that said, what’s your favorita US made light?
I like the I3T better. I wonder if the stronger battery will shorten the life of the LED bulb
That's why you buy many!
Oh and I believe the ones I have are 350MaH
i3T edc for over 1 year with 10440. great improvement. let cool down before putting in pocket.

Did you charge the 10440 batteries before trying this demonstration?
Yes and this was the first time I tried them.

F that warranty 🤣😂 I'll stick with the more power
@@HopsAndLead, agreed. At a $20 light not really much risk from a wallet standpoint 🙂
@@seanwilson512 oh yeah. It's about as bright as my M1T Raider (single CR123) and a lot smaller
Even if it does void the warranty there's no possible way that they can know that you put a lithium battery in the light.
You're really worried about the warranty on a $20 flashlight?
How are the runtime effected? The i3E EOS would be awesome if it had similar or even better runtime with the lithium!
I haven't done a side by side but it's definitely shorter with the 10440
@@HopsAndLead ok thanks! I'm less concerned with brightness than I am duration.👍🏻

I started using a 10440 on my 3t and. Use it so much.
Will the battery burn out the 3e fast?

No the battery will not cause the light to break. The LED in the i3t is rated for the 3.7 volts that the lithium battery puts out.

Which did u like better the i3t or i3e??
I3e on my keys. I don't really carry a small EDC light, try to stick to larger ones. Been carrying the Brinyte PT28 Oathkeeper
