    Freeze dried bananas that’s a good idea for the cereal. I use powdered milk mixed with Truvia for my coffee and cereal. Try mixing the powder with water first before the cereal so you get a good milky mix 😊.

    Amazing how much sand has washed out of that last deep section since when I did it a couple of years ago. Only got halfway up my thighs when I went through it. There's another short section halfway through that canyon that's been known to be an actual swimmer for shorter people in years past as well.

    Hey Amanda! Do you guys plan to camp through this winter or at least through nights where temps can get down to the 20s? I'm contemplating that this year and I was wondering if you have recommendations on a (double) sleeping pad and/or how to fortify your tent to stay warm? I'd be camping in the southwest (TX, NM, AZ) so it's probably not considered true winter camping. Or perhaps do you have a trusted resource that's already has tips or has done a thorough review and comparison? I live in TX so my gear is for 3- seasons.

    • @amanda.outside
      @amanda.outside  3 роки тому +1

      I'm planning to do some car camping in the winter months, but not really in the snow. I live in Utah, so I usually go down to the desert in the winter months where the temps definitely can get below freezing, but it's not super snowy for camping. The channel Backcountry Exposure has some great snow camping tips and gear reviews that might be helpful when planning winter camping trips. I would definitely check that out!

    • @amanda.outside
      @amanda.outside  3 роки тому +1

      The reason I had them separate was because I didn't have a bag (with a good seal) big enough to hold the cereal and milk together. For the powdered milk, I was using a small ReZip bag and my larger ReZip bags were already being used, so I just kept the cereal separate on this trip!
