Thanks for the comment! I'm using the Nik Collection plug in as well as the TK Panel, a google search should bring you to the plug in page. Although they do cost some money its totally worth it for the editing!
I've seen and tried several ways to do this, but haven't come across this method before even though it's one of the least complicated. Thanks for taking the time. I'll give your technique a try.
@@ThePhlogPhotography Tried it on the weekend. Mixed results but that was more because of the image I chose and its subject than the technique. Had a lot of trouble with animal fur in backlight. Needed the bright shot to give a reasonable exposure to a fluffy black animal, and the dark short to rescue a sky on the edge of blown out.
Hi, when I select "apply image", it created a color image into the mask, not a black and white one as you show in the video. What did I do wrong? Thanks
Outstanding video! I've been looking to learn a lot more about masks and these were excellent instructions. I've already been able to apply this to a bracketed photo I took last week of a sunset that I was really struggling with.
Your tutorials are so relaxing. They are amazing to watch and the results are always stunning!
Thank you so much, I'm very happy to hear that my friend! :-)
What a perfect tutorial. I was looking for something like this for a longtime!! Thanks
Thank you! I hope this will help you with your photos!
What are all the plugins that you use? Where can I find them? Amazing tutorial, thanks for sharing!

Great video. Thanks.
Is the "cloudy sky" white balance adjustment a plug in or pre-set? My camera raw does not have this selection. Thanks.
This is preset in Lightroom. Are you shooting in jpeg? because those options are only available to raw images!
