Always a joy to see vintage footage from the area, and even more so that it is in color.
What a treasure! My parents were young “ 20 somethings” in 1951 Victoria. It is so. Ice to be able to see a glimpse of the city.
My Dad was born in Victoria in 1936 and my Great Grandfather Charles Tuttle died 3 months later in 1936 he’s buried in Ross Bay Cemetery
Do you have a picture of his grave? If not, I could drop by there are take one for you
Born in Victoria in 1951, still here.
I think it's interesting how so much of it actually still looks the same!
On the surface that is true and I was thinking about that just today, but I walk past most of these places on my way to work or home and I I can see how it has changed. Yes, a lot of still is very similar
@@BCHistory I'm sure overall it's changed a lot. I also haven't been there for quite a while now!
A nice glimpse at the city that was. I still see Old Victoria down an odd alleyway here, or there. The true class of the place must have been marvellous.
Very nice
Is that downtown?
Yes.
comment!
...and this knob here is for focusing
I work with the raw footage I can find.....
