VOLVO XC70 2016
D4 Classic Summum
Kombi (Crossover) SUV
Diesel engine 2.0 twin turbo
Effekt 133 kW , 181 horse power
8 speed automatic gearbox ⚙️ - Авто та транспорт
Ultimately the most comfortable and safest drive you can buy. Best value for money of all cars. The sound of the D5 biturbo in my 205hp model is unreal, like V8. Insane car!
I'm a volvo fan. XC70 It's the car of my dreams. But I can't afford it. I hope that one day I can have one.
be quick. they're aging and their successor V90 CC is not anymore like them
@@pav85rez yeah, V90 CC is even better, with better Haldex, better cabin, better infotaiment system (even though there's a lack of AC buttons), better design and engine performance.
@@kordaxmint533 is more modern, but not necessarily better in all ways. Practical usage of cargo space is better on XC70 (due to its shape and rear door angle), as an example. Infotainment is more modern and supporting modern technologies (like Apple Car Play), but controlling AC and other things via touchscreen is simply silly. These things should be always physical buttons, so that yu can manage them without looking away from road...
@@pav85rez I agree on cargo space and ac buttons, but new car is Better in most aspects, especially the drivetrain, suspension and platform (spa)
@@kordaxmint533 And everything beside engine is absolutely not what makes car better... I would chose Xc70 always before V90 cc and i think that Volvo90cc is the best vagon on the market, by far!!
Very happy with my XC70, a great car for real life, shopping trips, holidays. Comfortable and very well thought out.
Give me subscribe and thumbs-up 🫡😍
I drove one of these as a rental back in 2017, most positive direct feeling steering I have ever seen in a vehicle. It was so engaging, never once thought I was going to nod off on a 12 hour solo drive!!! Insane, never seen this since...
I just bought one a few months ago. The car has already been 10x around the globe, in it's 10years! Wonderful car to drive. So quite inside. Still all the "gadgets" work fine, keyless entry , distance cruise control, dream in stop and go traffic! Auto dim headlights. Seats still heat and cools fine. The Four-C suspension still doing what it should. Only pity thing is that they have stopped producing them.
2005 Volvo XC70 is my second one after my 2003. Love it so much and travel in it a lot. I have a terrific Volvo shop that keeps it on the road.
Still get compliments as it looks very new still. Can’t say enough about the ride and abilities of this super vehicle.
Volvo fan for life!
Except current generation. Poor quality and reliability and nothing like the P3's. I have a 2015 T6 which I love.
One of the best cars they ever made.
And that is one PREMIUM experience!
Had a brand new one to my own spex back in 2011 as a company car, superb car.
I've had a lot of other cars since but miss my XC so much I've just bought a 2012 125k mile one that has every option, no way would you think it's done those miles, the premium sound system is way better than most so called high end systems.
Own an 04....Now in 23, it rides beautifully, as I am having all the aging parts upgraded, it will never leave my ownership. Truly a most amazing car to drive. Much as I like the newer versions, imo, I feel the car lost that rugged appearance, however....Volvo......for life. Nothing beats it at....187,000 km, it's barely broken in
Exactly 100% Volvo for life, i would never ever change Volvo far ANY, but ANY other car!!! There is only Volvo, expecially Volvo XC70 P3 D5, my favourite, and i want to buy soon is 2016. year!!
Xc 70 is th3 best Volvo
Hi! Probs for this really awesome vehicle. I own a V70 D5 AWD Summum (6 speed automatic gearbox, 5 cylinders, 2.4 liters, 215 hp) of the same generation and must say that this is by far the best car I ever had! Here in Germany, it's quite normal to drive more than 200 km/h on the Autobahn when it's not too busy and my Volvo is simply performing without any hesitation. The max speed so far was around 235 km/h and I still felt safe. This car is a real tank. It's not that fuel-efficient, but I guess that's due to my driving habits. 🙂 Best regards from Germany! Max
I've got the same car but mine is front wheel drive. Same engine and gearbox etc. I agree it's a real tank. I love it!
I own a T6 and it is FAST! Love it!
I have a V60CC 2015 and that seem to be a different animal. Despite having same suspension just set up different. But - we have done Trans Canada 3 times in it and didn't struggle for a second.
I would never ever buy something else, if the taxes where not that ridiculous high. These engines runs forever 600.000 km+ and comfort 10 of 10.
you don't need to release the parking brake to start drive.
To drive, you must put on your seat belt, turn on mode D and press the gas pedal - the car will release the brake itself.
I'm owner xc70 d4 2015my. This my lovely car.
I own one and i love it
Me too! 👍🏻
I had one, best car I've ever owned.
Yup. Great car.
Does it have comfortable seats?
@@nikodaq yes Nikodem. Typical Volvo armchair comfort
For all you who don't know, and there are a lot of you, it is meaningless to signal _before_ you enter any traffic circle. Instead, you should signal when you are _leaving_ the circle.
Really lovely car! They are still super expensive over here, even though it's starting to look quite outdated. Or well, it's mostly the headlights. I wish they had updated them on the newer XC70 models, just like they did with the facelift of the C30 back in the days.
It was "outdatet" when it was new, the hood and sides with the catwalk was a retrofit from Amazon(120 series) and 140 series.
It looks sort of timeless. Wit the tec inside the models from 2012 hold inside, is comfortable to use for the next 5-10 years. Unlike BMW's eyedrive wich was idiotic and like 20 years old cellphone. Like Nokia N-Gage after the BMW had been on sale like two years.
And the ride on the Volvo. My ol' man has an MK3 V70 and it's superb on these Finnish roads. Everytime i borrow it, i want to drive it to the France or Denmark etc. On one seat.
It does not look outdated and those headlights match the overall design rather well. The sleek Thors Hammer design would not have matched the classic edgy design language in my opinion and I can confirm that the xenon headlights are quite effective.
It is actually quite remarkable that this car got a thorough second facelift with the changed front bumper design (the S/V70 even got a different grille and rear bumper design), rear lights, updated interior and information tech and even an update of the biggest AWD 5-cylinder engine to Euro 6 emissions standards (albeit also with the introduction of 4-cylinder engines). The 70 series was overdue for a complete model change around 2013 but with the sale of Volvo to Geely they decided (or were forced) to run the model longer and give it a thorough update. That is why you have all of the amazing aforementioned updates even during the later years of this model. Having the big AWD 5-cylinder diesel engine with EURO 6 emissions standards is quite impressive for such a classic vehicle in the new car world of the mid 2010s.
Nice floor mats, where can I buy it?
Owned two! Not driving in new job and regret selling my last one.
Are they custom floor mats?
I too am very curious about the second LCD screen. Your previous response did not make it clear if it was an aftermarket item from Volvo itself, or some other online store. Is is a diagnostic display? Do you possibly have a link to the screen, or at least the actual product name?
We will never know I am afraid...
Zs
It’s just a Phone with Volvo Cars Application, if your car has Volvo on call system.
ХС 70 - это последний настоящий викинг ....!
i think the xc70 and skoda octavia scout keep there used prices up more than most above 10 year old ????
How's the turning radius on the xc70? I previously owned a xc60 2017. It had the turning radius of a 90s car xD. I just sold it thinking of picking between the xc70 or thhe mercedes-benz c 220 t d 2017.
XC60 AWD turning circle is 11.7m, and XC70 AWD is a bit lower at 11.5m.
For comparison, VW Passat is also 11.7m, and Mercedes E Class RWD is 11.5m.
swedes always become a part of the family😂😂
What is that for a monitor on the right side of the dashboard?
Volvo car application help you to check and control your Volvo , you found it on the store ..
@@mechanicalhobbies8258 not really needed
Does not seem to do much !
I'm looking at getting one next, my 2006 Ford Focus estate has served me well, time for a newer model.👍
Is the screen on the right one you've added or are they built into the car standard?
No it is not!!!! Gadget
sit in the big VOLVO you will be hooked I just got a s60 D5 my first Volvo and I love it
@@Bob-nu3xe I had a Volvo 345 many years ago, definitely left it's mark on me.
Currently drive a focus mk2 estate and the xc70 looks like a nicer alternative, certainly the interior is nuch mote upmarket, plus I like the rugged look, high ground clearance and go anywhere type appeal.👍
Well.. "quiet" very much depends on tyres and condition of door seals.
It also depends on the sound insulation inside the car.
Something like an S-class could have rock solid tires but still be silent on the highway
Don’t know man. I drove one and these modern cars feel so soulless compared to older cars like the phase 1 or even 2001 phase 2 v70.
Given that the viewers can't *feel* what this is like to drive, it really needs a commentary to help explain. If not, this video is just 'me driving a car'.
2016 was the last year of the xc70, sad😢
What's the average fuel consumption with this engine?
~5L/100 km
That must be in the highway going 90-110. Combined fuel economy is probably closer to 7 liters per 100 km or above@@mechanicalhobbies8258
There is also a sport mode!
Yes, Polestar version..
@@mechanicalhobbies8258 When you pull the shift stick to the left from the D-gear...
@@viihdeterapeutti Yes , when you pull it to the left the gearbox change to sport drive mode, and you can use the shifter manually 8 speeds.
My manual also have a sport mode, called "super duper sport", real extreme!
it's basically useless and makes nearly zero difference for performance.
Is it a good thing? If it is a Diesel, I assume it is because there is nothing particular exciting to hear.
the D5 diesel actually sounds very nice, especially if you sometimes push the pedal to the metal :D
It's nice, but I prefer my 04. It's more of a utility vehicle.
In which way, i am asking seriously?
driving it, you know youre are in one of the best cars in the world, at least if you look at the money you spend
Hehe.. A Mercedes E-class all-terrain from same year was cheaper.
But you have issues every day 🤕😮💨
@@mechanicalhobbies8258 280.000 km - Not a single issue yet :D
@@andersnielsen6044 That's good 👍🏻 you are lucky
so you say!@@andersnielsen6044
I drove BMW 3/5 series (30d), S60 Cross Country T5 AWD, and Mercedes E class (E450), and Volvo was the worst regarding stability, comfort, and ride quality...
BMW was hands down the best one.
I had pretty similar experience, but for me, stability and driving pleasure is BMW, but comfort is by far with Volvo..
In Germany on autobahn is not so stable after 140km/h.
not true... i was gliding at 170 km/h with this and was super stable and smooth
@@pav85rez it depends. It's stable if you compare it to cheaper cars, but BMW 3/5 series or Mercedes E are much better at it.
@@kordaxmint533 The primary purpose of XC70 is different than BMW 3/5 or Mercedes E. And with is 21cm clearance, the stability in high speed is amazing
@@pav85rez bmw x3 stability is way better.
@@kordaxmint533 model year 2012? newer ones for sure. remember that XC 70, even the latest facelift is still practically a car made in 2008... compare to X3 from 2008 and let me know...
The car is awesome! Your photography SUCKS! Next time put the camera on a stationary mount!
Thank you for the video. I have the D5 Polestar AWD full equipped. CrossingCountries on Swedespeed forum.
