Natural World: Badgers - Secrets of the Sett (2008)
Badgers are loved by some and hated by others. Yet few people have ever seen one alive. So how does the badger maintain its secret life? This film follows a badger family throughout the year, from the birth of their tiny cubs deep underground, to their spring emergence, discovery of summer scenery and encounters with people and wild neighbours. Set against the idyll of country life on a working farm, this film uncovers the dark and light side of the badger as never seen before. What is revealed is a surprising, entertaining and moving account of the country's most respected and endlessly watchable wild inhabitant.

"All three cubs survived, *so far*"
Why so ominous, Sir Attenborough?
Death potentially resides around every corner. Even for you, my friend. Even for me.
Badgers? Badgers?! We don’t need no stinking badgers!
What year was this filmed?? They were just fluffing up the beading to have a soft place to sleep LOL
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Mushroom mushroom
Can someone please tell me why the video of their nest is in greyscale?
I would imagine they use trail cameras in the nest and its dark in there so its in night vision. You cant flash a light in the nest or the badgers would be disturbed by it.
It was filmed with an infrared light & camera, so it’s only recording a _very_ limited light band.
@@RioRav ok thanks

I like badgers but why do folks set dogs on them and why did they do badger trials in the 80s/90s?
Didnt they carry a disease which welcomed a cull??
Unfortunately, Badgers are not for the garden. They’re nocturnal, eat worms and small lizards that are beneficial to the garden, and also leave smelly poops / urine.
On the other hand they eat small rodents. Feral cats are far worse
If it wasn't for the animals we wouldn't be here, it's about time people woke up and stop believing in the billionaires that like to keep us sick!
@@jupiterr9892 Rhesus Monkeys, some research claim that they carry DEADLY VIRUS. It was also believed that the HIV virus were transmitted to humans and humans transmitted to other humans which caused the HIV epidemic. Covid19, again accord8ng to some authorities, the virus must have come from BAT soups, a Chinese dish In WUHAN, although some believed the virus may have come from the lab. Man6 animals carry RABIES that could make humans very sick, or even die hence we bring our pets to the vets regularly. Birds, I love birds, I feed them in my garden but some of them carry virus that could cause BIRDFLU in humans and so on and so on! You’re right, without animals we don’t survive. I may not like Badgers in MY GARDEN, but I DON’T like them get killed because of their skin/ furs or for food for food for that matter. I love to watch them in the wider space of a wooded/ ranch style garden.mThey are interesting animals, and their coats are lovely!
Can someone please tell me why the video of their nest is in greyscale?
Because it’s a low light camera… It’s dark to begin with
