Thank you for reacting to queen mori! She was sick that day but the vocal breaks/cracks are intentional. The original was sung by Andra Day. Morissette’s version was getting more views than original so because of that Wish 107.5 was forced to take it down or face consequences. Tsk tsk. However, some youtubers re-uploaded the video. Take a listen to the original by Andra Day and you’ll know why they feel threatened by this one. More success to your channel.

I heard she is sick that day but still she sang live and she perfectly sang it.
She's actually a little sick more than tired that day. As far as I know she had colds the whole week during the time it was recorded. That's also explains why she sounded a little thicker than usual. :)

That voice crack was intentional to add drama and emotion to the word "dying". You can watch vocal coach reactions. I've learned this from them. And knowing Mori, she does intentional vocal breaks (IVB) every once in a while. Great reaction! :)

I'm not sure if you're aware but this video isn't the original WishBus video (Morissette covered this song so well that it was getting more views than Day's original and had to be shut down). Morissette was actually sick during the recording of this song. Not that it makes a lot of diff because she still killed it. And those voice cracks are intentional. It's her signature.
She wasn’t tired. The raspiness was intentional and an artistic choice.
FYI....her voice was NOT tired. She is using that effect because she is talented and she can do those effects

Nya that song was originally performed by Andra Day , a wonderful singer which i also like for it . The difference between Andra Day and Morissette Amon is not on how good they both performed , no question there , its just Andra made it more dramatic and down to earth , with some flavor of her own and Morissette took it to a Soprano level , added to it her own colors and dynamics which of course it is proved to be highly addicting and as every "junkie" i come back daily to take my dose of her !!!

Hi Nya. You are not alone thinking that it is her original song. It is the best version, orig and cover. Many many reactors and viewerrs thought that way too. It was reported that there were more UA-cam viewers in the first video that the Wish Bus came up with than the original. This led to the eventual deletion of that video, which at the time ha 50M viewers.. What you reacted to was a re-upload.

Those voice cracks (IVB) are her signature. She's known for them. Tristan Paredes, said it best. For someone at this level, "everything is intentional". However, you are also right in saying that Morissettes voice seems tired. She performed this song sick.
