Our Front Axle Snapped...(Huge Wreck)

- This Vlog is from July 18th, 2020. We took a trip to our local track the Cottage Grove Speedway, in Cottage Grove Oregon for a local sprint car race. We qualified good but snapped a front axle in the heat race which sent us into a frenzy. We fixed the car and charged through the field in the A Main Event!

The reason I mentioned it.... years ago, my friend jumped a restart. The race went green - checkers. He won easily. And was put back to 3rd. If there had been a caution, he would have been sent back then and could have easily won the race in the remaining 20 laps.

That's awesome that y'all were able to recover and make a great run in the A. A couple questions/ comments though. Are Raceceivers mandatory there? If not, I'd suggest lobbying for them. After your incident everyone but the leader (I think) slows down and comes to a stop pretty quickly. He just keeps hot footing it around completely oblivious to the red flag. That's just super dangerous, to you stopped on the track, and to the officials and safety workers trying to get to you. If he had a Raceceiver he needs to get it checked, and told that if it happens again he'll get DQ'd. Lastly how much damage did the tow truck do? I know it's common to pick a car by the rear halo and hang it like that (we've done it in a pinch, but it's not the way we prefer to do it), but damn he could have both tied it off so it didn't swing so much and driven more carefully to keep it from bouncing around. We'd have guys coming to "talk" to us with wrenches in their hands if we towed a car like that here in Nebraska.
Yes raceievers are mandatory. The leaders was not working and that is why he was still in the gas. Also I do agree they should have tied up my car better. It would have made it all a tad bit easier.

Awesome video Tanner, loved it & cant wait to see more! Im not sure when our sprintcar season starts in Australia cause of the covid-19 rules that we have here but normally it starts around October- November. Our summer season here starts in December which is why most years we have a warm to hot Christmas Day!

Man I gotta say, not only can ur sister drive a sprint car, as proven in ur last video, but she is not afraid to turn a wrench and get dirty either...she was right in there with the guys changing out parts...NOT COMMONPLACE these days from a 14yr old. be proud of her, family...and of you young man as well.

You should go to a pavement race, I used to go to one every 2 years with my sprint and you gotta put on slicks, it’s pretty fun

I do not wear arm restraints. I do not feel they do anything for me.
@@TannerHolmes fair enough. I started wearing them at 7 with quarter midgets. Always felt weird without them.
