That Amana 2 knob dryer and some of them say Kenmore, same thing ; they do have one major problem. The timers on them are cheap. And thier contact wear out. But you can easily take it apart and pay attention to say what they are suppose to do by examining the wiring diagram. So you know suppose to contact what in them arms.
I have an amana dryer which everytime i connect the dryer vent hose it will not spin, heater element turns on but not spin.I replaced heater element and thermal fuse ,checked belt and replaced also the door switch. Please help!
I have a video on that. But there are several ways. Get them before they get to the scrapyard by a friend in some of the local scrappers. Also, some towns have certain days that you can bring Appliances to be thrown away to the curb. After you have a few sources before Appliances, be sure to start a trade-in program and take $20 off when someone purchases from you and trade in their old Broken washer dryer. Hope that helps and check out my other videos on getting started in the appliance flipping business and there’s also some really great Facebook groups.
Speed queen is the most long lasting dependable in my opinion. Unless you buy a older used washer dryer. a lot of the newer ones are just junk they don’t last.
can you do a video on how you are getting replacement parts and how much you are paying for them? I am a little apprehensive about buying parts other than OEM, i don't want to be responsible for loss of property or loss of life... Thanks for all the information you are freely giving out, it is greatly appreciated!
I don't think original manufacturer part is a guarantee that there won't be an issue at the customer's house. I think most dryer fires are because of lint buildup either in the dryer or at the customer's house exhaust. I have done delivery's where they have the wrong gauge wire on the dryer Outlet or the wrong breaker and I'll refuse to hook up and leave. You'll find when you do a few deliveries the real issue people are having with appliances failing is not buying the perfect replacement part but the customer wiring or having a completely stopped up dryer exhaust pipe.
I buy the washer hoses off Amazon. Sometimes I'll be on sale and I'll get stainless steel for about $12 of set and regular rubber for $10. I sell them to the customers for $20 for stainless and $15 for rubber. I'll buy the dryer vent pipe in a 20-foot piece and cut it to size for the customer. Usually less than 4 feet. I charge $5 for vent pipe. Sometimes you can buy large bundles of plugs from eBay for a decent discount. I recently bought a ton of them from a discount store for $5 a plug. Brand new it was a crazy good deal I got a lot of them.
Hey man, love your videos. Maybe I missed it, but do you have videos of the routine/checklist (or step by step guide) of what you do with every washer/dryer when you start working on them?
If you go to my playlist you'll see I have playlist with different types of washers and dryers repairs. I've also made some Quick Check guides videos but I have not finished those for all machines.
Have you ever had to re-coat the surface of the inside of the dryer drum? If so, what is the safest coating? I have only seen folks using appliance epoxy on the outside surfaces of washer and dryers.
I’m always super nervous about painting the inside of drums. I’m worried it will get on someone’s clothes so usually I avoid this at all cost. If it is bad I will usually just sand it and leave it bare metal. It doesn’t look great but it’s better than messing up someone’s good clothes. It’s a good question I’m just not sure what paint would hold up in that kind of heat.
@@WasherDryerMoney Cool thanks for the timely response! I went with high heat rustoleum paint for grills and wood burning stoves. I’ll let cure real good for a couple days then try it out. I’ll keep you posted and if it works then we both will have learned something.Thank again!
@@WasherDryerMoney Hey just wanted to give you an update. I finished the dryer awhile ago but just installed it 2 days ago because I needed to change out the socket to a four prong receptacle. I set the dryer to 60 min High Heat and put in dryer sheets to insure that the paint had fully cured and the paint smell dissIpated. Dried 3 loads and so far so good.
I have never taken one but I do like Mr. Mike at Appliance Boot Camp. He sells a course that I have seen people say is pretty good. Check out his UA-cam channel.
How long does it usually take for you to flip a dryer? I just fixed up a Samsung front load dryer and posted on Craigslist, and let go and getting no action. Also does appliances like washer and dryers sell better in the set or dose it matter.
I don't like selling sets because the odds of getting a trade and go down tremendously. People that need a washer or a dryer probably have a broken washer or a broken dryer that they will trade in. Busy season will be starting as soon as Tax Returns come in and anything you have should sell that's what happens to me. This is definitely the slow time of year but you should still be selling just lower your price until you find what the market prices in your area. Make sure you are saying that they are guaranteed to work. Something like free 30 day warranty free delivery with trade in. I haven't done this in a while but if I get a lot of inventory I will offer free delivery.
I had issues with that too I finally started a second Facebook account. I need to look more into what's going on with this problem before it happens again to me. I know several Appliance people that say they never had any issues with this. I have not personally figured out what makes it happen.
just Electric. I have attempted to sell some gas but in my area they're not very popular. I had one gas dryer for nearly six months before I found someone that wanted to buy it. Versus electric dryers are so easy to sell. But this may be different in areas that use natural gas a lot more like big cities.
I see some of those are very old, people in my area would not buy those models. Depend on your market. People that sell them want an arm and a leg with no warranties. We have people picking them up on the road and selling them as working appliances. What is your base price and warranty?
Good stuff. Just subscribed 👍

Is the rear drum seal replaceable on a Whirlpool with lint trap on top?
Yes.
Are Kenmore Elite dryers and washer better appliances on the market?

Where can I get to buy the wtw4950hw1 suspension 26 1/2
Check appliance parts pros and use their model number search engine to get the part number and search for that particular part number.
What do you do about washer hoses and dryer vent duct do you supply them or have them buy it. They are pretty expensive

Do u recommend a appliance trade school? Like Uncle harry's or Chris stokes

Also is there a certain way of listing on Facebook marketplace. Every post I try to list of these dryers get flagged. Do I need a business account

List on OfferUp also. That's The biggest market in my area
Do you refurbish gas dryers as well or just electric?
