    Friendly reminder to other current Jeep Liberty owners. The Power Steering pulley is plastic. Thing blew up on I-5 and shot all around the engine compartment. Took hours to get a tow, then a eve lost trying to use the special tool to remove it in a O’Rely’s parking lot at night. Ended up having to take it to Firestone. I don’t know if it was age or miles but it shattered at 105K miles. If I was you I’d swap that out asap if you haven’t already. I just dropped it off in CA, so that was a tough lesson I won’t need anymore but hope it saves someone else some pain.

    Our 2008 Liberty is showing water leaks at the headliner area around the same place. A local window repair guy just showed us the same thing as this video. Thanks for sharing. By the way, the Jeep dealer's 'water expert' has worked on this issue at least once and it appears he hasn't fixed it yet.

    My 2011 Liberty had some wet spots drivers side and passenger side roof liner I have no trees In area where I park car, track was spotless, but the most helpful thing you mentioned was “spiders” I flushed both sides out with turkey baster filled with water and blew out with air and no more leak. Thanks very helpful!

    Thanks for this video.
    So I just had my windshield replaced for the second time (2012 Liberty) and mentioned the leak to my serviceman. He actually checked the drain with a small amount of water and said it seemed OK. Today ran it through a car wash and extremely wet around the top of the right front pillar down through the upholstery. How can I determine if the drain is the problem or some other design flaw? It would seem likely the second windshield replacement was not the issue because I had specifically complained about the seal to have it replaced.

    Is there a permanent fix? Or is this something that you have to periodically do? I’ve had my Jeep Liberty 2011 for about 5-6 years & have had to get this done at least once a year if not twice. Mold & mildew has started to develop and I’m am tired of the sh*t

    HI!! I have a leak issue, a bought this Jeep 2 weeks ago and was told the panoramic sunroof has been sealed completely because it did not work and rain was coming in. He assured me it was fixed. I cleaned the water spots and now that it rained, the water is coming through. I took it to a mechanic, he added some of that black paste to seal, it rained again today and same thing happened. I am very frustrated. The water is leaving a yellow stain, it seems to me that it's old water, like standing water rather than new but I am no expert so I am wondering if might be a drain issue. Anyway, I am in Rhode Island and would not mind making the drive to see you. Please let me know if you still repair these issues. Thank you.

      I have the same problem. My interior lights fill with water by the windshield. What was causing your leak? 2012 Jeep patriot.

    Thank you for the video, but in my case, I had to seal the plastic parts on the back and on the front of the sunroof (passenger and pilot side). The rear parts can be easily peeled off and sealed with silicone.My drain lines were not blocked. I have a 2009 Liberty.

    You may have said this, but are the tubes only on the drivers side or do I need to repeat the same on the passenger side? I have a 2008 Liberty. Thanks for the video!

    So I called your place & was told that unfortunately you don't take outside customers, would the person repairing the leak be interested in helping me with the leak as a side job? Please? Thanks.

    Hope this help can help you too: I was able to unplug the hose by reaching it from between the airbag and the liner (not from above the airbag). Don't get me wrong: is a tight place to work, but you can do it!

    Thanks. This seemed like the answer to our problem, and it probably is but any tricks to do this for a 2008? (Michael Dunlap?) The drain line seems to be farther inside the roof away from the door frame than in the 2009, as seen in the video. I can feel the line but can't get my hand in and up far enough to reach where it connects to the next piece. I tried removing the other support for the visor and get a little farther but not enough. I really don't want to start removing more trim pieces; I'm afraid of messing up the air bags. My hand is all cut up, fingernails broken. I should have known...I needed a nut driver to remove the visor instead of a TORX.

      You will need to remove the pillar post cover as shown in the video at 2min. 25sec. You will not affect the airbag by removing this.

    • @purgatory316
      @purgatory316 6 років тому

      You need to take off the rear panel there is a cable you can pull. You may be getting water back there also and have to replace the hatch

      We are not a repair facility. The video is something that I posted after having a problem with a Liberty that was on our used car lot, in hope that it could help someone else with the same problem. Sorry, I cannot help you.

    Its not only leak because the drain chugged it’s also leaking because the stupid design they made even if the car new it will leak under high pressure water
