I think it's important to recognise that a lot of the preparation for this Toefl examination is unseen. I went to a tier 1 English medium school, English was my primary language for years, and I was constantly exposed to English media on a daily basis. Although this video covers topics that are genuinely helpful regardless of your background, the success I had was not solely because of these topics, but rather years of hidden preparation for an examination that tests your proficiency at English. If you don't get the same score as me, don't worry, because I'm still certain with time, practice, and these tips, you can surely improve your score by a legitimate amount. This video was made from a good place, but I still think it's important to add this comment to add context (that similarly applies for a lot of my videos) for any young viewer!!
I totally agree with you, many people just showed that they can crash the test in 3 days or 7 days, what we don't see is the unseen parts where they have been evolving with English environment for so long and effective period. "years of hidden preparation for an examination that tests your proficiency at English" & "a lot of the preparation for this Toefl examination is unseen" were great to mention, so people won't fall in the same trap or feel dissappointed in themself. Anyway, much appreciated for your sharing. It was wonderful and inspiring to see a full-scored is possible!

You're probably the first person who suggested to read entire passage. That technique works for me because going back and forth really freaks me out. But again at the same time if I'm reading entire passage, just because someone said "don't read the entire thing" it really scares me and I end up making mistakes. Thankfully, I have watched this video. It will really help me. Thanks 😊
Yeah, I read through the whole passage as well and I do not understand how you can finish questions without finishing the whole passage😂 I always get 30 on reading so this strategy absolutely work! When I begin to prepare for ACT I realize that TOEFL reading is already friendly enough and you definitely will have sufficient time to finish them after plenty of practice. ACT reading is sooo difficult btw😭
Watching this video after taking the exam (where I got 30 on Reading) and TOTALLY AGREE! You get 18 minutes per reading passage+its 10 questions. I read the passages carefully and with genuine interest, and even though reading might have taken me 5 to 6 minutes, I was able to finish answering the questions in less than 4 minutes. My exam had 4 reading passages and I ended with 10 minutes to spare!

06:04 - "-phile is a Latin root." It's not Latin, it's Greek. In Greek, "φίλος" (philos) means "friend," and when used as a suffix (-φιλος, -philos), it means "someone who is fond of, has affection/love for" whatever precedes this ending. The English ending "-phile" comes from this Greek term, meaning "he who has an affection for." Of course, I'm not about to lecture to someone who speaks a daughter language of Sanskrit. This is more along the lines of providing a general piece of info to whomever may be interested. Peace & love. 👍🏻

I'm definitely working towards being financially independent (Yt, Sleep Deprived Dreamers, Investing). But I'm definitely just getting started, I will definitely feel comfortable enough to discuss this 2-3 years down the line! Maybe by the time I turn 21.
