I have something from back then🤔 called Collector's Market, news paper type booklet. That was the eBay of it's time. Had to call people on the phone back then. Yes Luke Hoth is a 48B back👌 that's another reason why 48A backs are a lot more scarce. Thanks for the updates 👍
Makes me think of the paper catalog I used to get from Intergalactic Trading Company in Florida. They still sell stuff on eBay and their own website. I miss the late 80s/early 90s.
I used to shop at Gateway Models. The owner was as unpleasant as they come - his main business was car batteries and the shop for toys was taped on the side. The story goes he bought up every Kenner Australia SW figure after EXPO '88 (in Brisbane) for around 50 AU cents each. He had BOXES and BOXES of SW figures - a Droids Boba Fett is the one I regret leaving behind, but was at Uni at the time and had to proritize food and rent! I think some Americans came in during the late 90s and bought out everything?
That guy bought them all from the Brisbane Show in 1991. They were being sold in a bag $15 for 5 figures!! As a teenager I could only afford 1 bag.....I got Carbonite Han, Empire R2, brown snake Yoda, Rancour Keeper and Han Endor...... Unfortunately I did open them!!
Thanks AFG it's awesome
Thanks for the shout out AFG, I hope your viewers will get a kick out of those prices. The majority of my Kenner came from Gateway Models. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing Mike! Great bit of history with that photo you sent me
